[Solved] Game crashing while loading tile

Please forgive if this is not in the correct spot, but my game is crashing when loading a tile in a region. I am all up to date (version 1.1.641.0 and it is a digital copy from Steam) I looked everywhere in the forums, but nothing. I did put the cpu usage to 1 (-CPUCount:1). The game worked after I installed NAM37, but after about a week or so, the game would crash trying to load a tile. I love SimCity 4, but it crashing lately is driving me mad. Any help is appreciated. Any custom tree controllers?

Do you have SC4Fix installed (highly recommended to rule out other causes of CTD)?

I have one, but I never ever any problems with it installed. As for the SC4Fix, I looked at it, but was not sure if it would help at the time.

The SC4Fix is for everyone - it fixes problems that the base game is still shipped with, as well as issues encountered when you push the limits with mods.

The only CTD on tile loading I've heard of had to do with tree controller mismatches (different controller, missing files etc).

I don't know enough about the NAM to comment on that part.

@CT14, When I first downloaded NAM 37, I patched ALL ".exe" with the 4gb thing. All I did was delete all the backup files leaving the original files in place and redid the 4gb patch for the SC4. exe. The game now loads and the city tile also loads without crashing. Now I am slowly getting my plugins folder filled with the plugins that I took out

@bakercity i tried your recommendation, not fully understanding it as i do not have old files, i just bought vanilla SC4 and only now im trying out these mods. im still crashing the same way,

If you recently installed NAM 37, then the problem might be fixable with the 4GB patch. If you go to the 3:51 mark in the video below, it will show you how to apply this patch.

That said, the crash to desktop problem can be triggered by a few different issues. So if you haven't installed NAM 37, there might be another mod or conflict causing the problem. In that case, we'll need to know which mods you're trying to use.
