Covering Up

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to custom lots and modding, so this might be a rookie question. I'm trying to build a set of custom lots for a mid-to-late 19th century American city. Unfortunately, a number of otherwise perfect BATs have some less-than-period-appropriate roofjunk and other mechanical bits. For example, some of the buildings in JBSimio's Small Town USA series are a great fit architecturally, but there are utility meters, ductwork, and air conditioners baked into the models.

On the one hand, it might be easiest to pick and choose from buildings that don't have these features. But I was wondering if anyone has had success masking these kinds of features with other props.

As far as my (limited) experiments in PIM-X go, it seems like this might not be possible -- I'm getting some weird graphic glitches from one prop clashing against another. That said, I'd love to hear if other forum members have had success with this kind of thing.
