Greetings fellow dictators democratically elected government officials,

As much as I love the SC4 soundtrack (Floating Population is my fav), I'm hoping to add greater variety with some extra music. I've already grabbed the soundtrack from SC3000 (Magic City and Window Washer's Dream are my top 2) as well as SC2000 (the nostalgia can be overwhelming at times). I came across the Comprehensive SimCity Music Collection and am in the process of going through its contents to see if anything interests me. I've also added some tracks which I believe are classified as "electronic". I'm just curious to see if anyone has any other recommendations; not necessarily from other Sim games, just that are of a similar style to the games and tracks I've mentioned.

Thanks a lot! I especially liked "Salt + Charcoal". I've never considered myself a big fan of jazz. Funny thing is, the only time I ever find myself listening to it is while playing SimCity, but I do greatly enjoy those tracks.

If you're looking for something atmospheric, you may want to check out Brian Eno.  I would suggest looking at "Another Green World" or any of the "Music For Films" collections.

Thanks! Never listened to much of his stuff, but there are a few songs I really like. I have to admit, that's not a name I expected to come up as a recommendation for SimCity music, but I'll check that out.

You could check out Bob Moses or M.O.O.N. (especially the song Dust ).  I also have a few Pink Floyd songs in my SC4 collection.  And of course I have all the songs from SimCity 3000 Unlimited in my SC4 collection.

Yes, "Dust" is most certainly SimCity-esque, I would say. Great suggestion. I'll check out the other stuff as well, thanks.

Now, for a curiosity: Check this song from 6:45 and tell, from which SC4 song they got the sample?

It does seem somewhat familiar. Just can't connect it to a particular song.
