Windows 7 32bit SC4D wont open

Hi I know this topic has been done before but i can't seem to get it to work i've tried everything i can find on the forum 

> running in compatiblity mode and as adminstator

>  -CustomResolution:enabled -r1366x768x32 -CPUCount:1

> Set full control to the Maxis folder

> Set regedit secdrv to vaule  4

>  -intro:Off

It's been a few years since i played, I got my wife a new laptop for christmas so i got her old one just for SimCity as want to start playing again the laptop is only going to used for SimCity 4

the only diffrence is the one i have is windows 7 sp1

 

if any one could help it would be great as want to get back to playing

Are you trying to play from a physical copy of SC4? If so you're a victim of microsoft's removal of the securom drivers. Many old cd games won't run anymore because some drm drivers are now not recognized by windows.

On Windows 7 you can get rid of the windows updates that prevent the game from running.

I still have a cd version I thought I'd sorted by doing the value 4 I will try the other steps in the link will update after

Happy to say I'm back on SimCity uninstalling the update worked now to remember how to install downloads and get building going to be downloading a lot before playing

It was a pleasure. Nice to see people still playing SC4 (and still using Win 7 ...)
