SC4 Mapper and North American Content

Just bought this game (SC4) from Steam, since the box version I got my girlfriend last xmas, didn't seem to run at all on my pc. Now after looking at the Steam upload comments, pix and videos, that North American Map look really interesting and would like to start fresh on the East Coast and expand my towns and cities.

Now the problems is that I am having trouble finding the SC4 mapper, since I already register to this site, but cannot find the download section for SC4 Mapper. Found some and believe it was another site, couldn't use the username and pass and didn't realize its have nothing to do with Simtroplis and loaded with malwares as well.

 

Now I read and heard there are some problems with mapper tool that doesn't work due to pc specs and operation system. What I have here is Win 8 x64. So could someone help me here. Otherwise I am going to ask Steam for a refund, since I cannot get that map working in SimCity 4.

 

Btw, why is this site so freakin slow to upload or update???

First, try to uninstall KB3086255 . If successful, then you should be able to install and run the disc version of the game. Then you might choose to get a refund from Steam.

Are you perhaps talking about SC4 Devotion? Because I assure you it is NOT loaded with Malware if that is the case. As for the Username/Password issue, the SC4D site and SC4D LEX require separate logins, so you'll need to register specifically to use the LEX. Link to SC4 Mapper (LEX).

Both SC4 Mapper and SC4 Terraformer, the most popular mapping tools will work just fine on Windows 8. That's not to say you won't have to do a little work, but SC4 Mapper is certainly the easier of the two. Just take care to carefully read the readme for installation instructions and a list of required files to use it.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I manage to get it up on Steam verison along with mapper to install that North America Regions. After I loaded it up and realize how small these regions are and there no way it will look right. So I aborted it.
