SC3K - Resolution Issues (Win 10)

Hi guys,

I just bought SimCity 3000 from GOG. The problem is I have yet to actually be able to play it due to what I can only assume is a display glitch of some kind.

The game opens in windowed mode, which I'm fine with - I lose track of time playing sim games so seeing the computer clock is a positive for me. No matter what I try and do to change the screen resolution, though, the actual game continues to open in a much smaller window. I have attempted to change the screen resolution both in the game and by editing the link path and all that does is change the game window size. The game itself continues to run at the same resolution, surrounded by massive black bars. Changing compatibility settings or trying to launch in fullscreen just seems to cause the game to crash on load, and I'd rather figure out how to fix the issue with the windowed version anyway. Does anybody know what's causing this issue? It's playable right now, but not much fun.

I've attached a screencap of what I'm looking at every time I load. I've tried asking on the GOG forums too but have had no response in 24 hours and still don't know what to do about this. I'm using Windows 10 version 1709 (OS Build 16299.192) and have a high-def screen on my laptop, which is partly why the window looks so ridiculously small to begin with... and trying to override high-def scaling to see if that would fix it also causes the game to crash on load.

I've only played it on XP Pro, so I really can't say if this will help, but check out @Cool_Z's thread: Running SimCity 3000 in HD (or other resolutions). Hopefully that'll help.

Thank you - that did it! The title screen still lurks in the middle of the weird black bars, but the game itself is now actually fitting the window instead of hanging out somewhere in the middle looking tiny. My day is saved.
