After replacing my graphics card, I no longer see circles around effect tools such as god-mode leveling and smoothing. I have the latest driver, and my custom resolution works without a hitch. Only glitch I've noticed so far is that the area circles aren't there any more. Does anyone have any hints? Can anyone suggest the pertinent keywords for me to search old threads?

Likely some rendering issue/incompatibility causing an issue. First things first, check the Graphics Properties in-game havn't been reset by the detection of a new GPU. Try all three rendering mods and see what results you get with them. If this shows an issue with say DirectX rendering, you know it's connected to the GPU/Drivers on your system. You might find altering the 3D settings through the GPU's Driver Software for SC4 could make a difference. Similarly, using the latest driver might not be helping, an older driver may include compatibility modes not included with newer ones.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Aha... I saw something about 3D in the card's controller. I'll look into it.

And SC4 hit two changes within a week: When I reverted to the MB's on-board graphics, and again when I installed the new card. I forgot that SC4 can change my settings for me in such cases.

Sure enough, a bunch of the game's graphics settings had been nerfed. I pumped them up, and (after a restart) my circles came back! My cities also look much better *:8)
