I know what you mean, after RH came out, I downloaded every half way decent BAT and clogged up the plugin folders, by the time I get a city open, I've found something else to do...

Off topic aside: Please to excuse the 'temp test avatar'. I had to figure out the 'how to do it' before I considered the 'what. Went and cropped out a tiny section from a picture of my former butterfly&hummer garden but the resolution's obviously not so hot. But now I know how to fix it.

The timing of the release of all these new farm lots was perfect for me. I'd previously collected all those files into a 'Hold folder and had just placed them into my plug ins folder (the whole cumbersome building dat issue) when, lo!, they're suddenly rendered obsolete.

Fine. 'Cause I had yet to place a single one. Whew.

I'm really looking forward to these new versions.

(I have a new town with a Mayor K. Booms - heh)

Just a word of caution about some the discussion threads re the new farms: They're conducted in a foreign language, viz. LotEditorese and much of the discussion will be essentially gibberish to most Mac users.

I will say that there seem to be a number of issues re missing props and such. One patch has been issued so far. It's likely just as well that kbooms hasn't posted all of these yet to his site.

In going through the read me's for the new farms, I've discovered among the staggering list of dependancies at least two files from the EA site which are not available to Mac users: the flag peace park and the castle walls. Probably won't make a substantial difference.

There is however a larger issue which I've found in reading the BSC Farms thread: Unless you have a mod from GrampaAl which prevents the Maxis farms from growing, you'll have Maxis farms growing into and over the new farms in a chaotic mess.

(There are some graphics of this process. Ouch!)

Sadly, I haven't been able to locate that mod.

Just kidding, I'm glad you're using/testing them, I try to place BSC stuff for testing purposes before they come out, but have not had any time to try the farms, so you have been deputized...;-)

The Grampa Al mod is called Prevent IR Lots and it is located in the Modding Files section. Don't know why that wasn't made clearer.

As to the Flag Park and Castle Walls lots, I'm pretty sure these are referenced for specific props, and most if not all Mac users will probably not notice the difference, but we'll see...

Kbooms, I'd never attempt to usurp your position.

I haven't installed any of this material to my Mac, merely used my work broadband connection and PC version to download and install the packages into those plugins folders. Copy the whole files to a rewritable CD and eventually drag it all back home.

I'm following the discussions over on the BSC thread and will probably do the dirty deed this weekend

I did consolidate all the read-mes to one doc to attempt to locate all the prop files. I've got those two files from EA but they seem not to be essential.
