There is unfortunately no hard evidence that there is any official "SimCity 6" project.  EA Games owns the copyright to the name SimCity, so unless EA Games is doing this, or some other game developer has paid EA an exorbitant amount of money to use the name, it isn't happening.  If EA were working on some sort of follow-on to SimCity 2013 (by any name), I'm sure we would have heard something by now.

The so-called "SimCity 6 Trailer" that is available on the web is no such thing.  It appears to have first arrived on the web sometime last year.  If you watch the entire video, there is absolutely no mention anywhere of the name SimCity 6.  If fact there is only mention of a company called Enodo.

Enodo is a French company that specializes in creating 3D environments to help clients visualize there projects.  It is not game development company.  The so-called "SimCity6 Trailer" is actually taken directly from Enodo's website, where it is titled "Enodo DemoReel 2012."

But it never hurts to stop dreaming!

BTW, which website did you pull this info from?

My ideas about how should SC6 look like:

  • You can choose the type of regions:
    • Arctic
    • Middle
    • Subtropic
    • Tropic
    • Dessert
      • every type could have some specific elements you could add only into that type of region.
      • you would start in fully customizable and growable region or from various regions based on real places of the world
  • The development of your city would be divided into levels. The more numerous and more happy your population is, the higher level you reach and the more stuff you unlock.
  • You could choose the look of every public building (Police stations, Fire depts., schools, etc.) in various styles, for example:
    • West European (old or new)
    • East European (old or new)
    • North American (old or new)
    • South American (old or new)
    • Middle Eastern
    • East Asian
      • the higher level you get, the bigger building with the bigger effected area could be built
      • there could be an option to make every public building accesible for people with disabilities (it would cost some money but it would also positively affect the mood of neighbouring citizens)
  • The RCI zoning (as known from SC4) could be applied. In Level 1, only old-looking buildings could be built (you could choose their look from styles mentioned above). The higher level you reach, the more styles of buildings would be unlocked (all of them in style that you would choose).
  • The transportation stuff:
    • Roads, streets, avenues; railroad, small passenger rail stations, small freight station, tramway, tram stations; bus stops unlocked in Level 1
      • there could be possibility to arrange the bus/tram routes
    • Motorways, bridges, tunnels, pedestrian zones, bike paths; larger rail stations, bus stations unlocked in Level 2
      • there could be possibility to forbid entrance to the city for trucks (as in real cities), to integrate bike paths with streets, roads or avenues or make them separate
    • Underground, elevated / mono rail (with their respective stations); passenger's & ferry docks; small airport unlocked in Level 3
    • An international airport would be unlocked, when population and mood of citizens reach some limit
  • Energy
    • Electricity - the higher level you reach, the more efficient and more clean power plants you could build
    • There could be possibility to build a hydroelectric power plant (a dam)
    • Water - the same as in SC4
    • There could be possibility to build a gas pipelines, gas refineries etc.
    • There could be possibility to build an internet cable network (unlocked in higher levels)

I have a lot ideas and later I add them here. :)

Needs to be SimCity 4 with NAM, ,  no limitations to mayor house, ploppable modules to buildings, tram depots, mega towers, more resorts, taxi stands, industry specialization, play offline, farming industry, scenarios, policies, DLC similar to the ones for the SimCity (2013), natural gas and hydrogen power plant, transport enhancements, building tourist destinations and bigger maps.

Will add more ideas soon. I understand.

Needs to have monorails, cruise ship terminals, grand railroad stations, ground and elevated highways, bigger park and ride garages, international airports, seaports, car and ferry terminals, ski resorts, beach resorts.

    Why?

Cities: Skylines proved all that can  work in a city building game.

I understand it can be a made believe.

Getting to the sheer theoretical question of whether or not EA would have any plans for a new mainline entry in the SimCity franchise (and ignoring the fictional idea on the Ideas Wikia), it would seem to be very unlikely at this juncture.  The 2013 "reboot" of SimCity was a PR nightmare for the company (see here and here), and while the full financial details haven't been released, the game reportedly lost money, and the Maxis studio in Emeryville was shut down two years later.

Additionally, given the fact that EA is still keeping SimCity 4 at an MSRP of US$19.99 (more than SC2013 is often selling for these days, and only $10 less than the base version of C:S), and they are still selling "nerfed" copies on their own digital retail platform, Origin, it's almost as if they're trying to throw the competition against Colossal Order/Paradox and C:S.  Knowing EA's patterns, a small part of me wonders if they're playing the long game with that non-competitive strategy, and are looking at buying Colossal Order and/or Paradox.

I agree. However, the game can be like an upgraded version of SimCity 4 with monorail depots, metro depots, bus depots, trams, tram depots, low, medium and high densities streets, roads, avenues. In addition, the park and ride in SimCity 2013 is smaller than the public parking garage in SimCity 4. It can have electronics, metals, oil, coal, ore, forest, farming industries, along with prisons, police predicts, state prisons, federal prisons, detention centres, military schools, art schools, medical schools, mods that can unlock everything and have unlimited money.

Do u like to have unlimited money when building a city?

If SimCity 6 becomes a reality, I hope EA will have the common sense to make a good compromise between all the previous games. Each one of them has good ideas within them. Here's what my ideal game would looks like.

    • The game will bring back the ordinances system which would have an effect on every aspect of life throughout the city.
    • No more taxing every hour which doesn't make any sense.
    • More specialization options like the Military, defense industry and finance. The Military headquarters would look like the Pentagon which you could upgrade to add more military branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, Intelligence & Research). Defense Industry will have the same function as the Electronics one. Finance will allow us to build banks and a Stock exchange which will boost the economy especially the commercial sector. It could also allow to borrow at a lesser rate.
    • The Great works should be kept but this time they would have an effect on each city of the map instead of a part of it.
    • Module system kept but we need more public buildings like the Courthouse and a City jail for more realism.
    • Bring back the Drive-it feature from SC4. I loved driving and fly throughout the city.

About the traffic, it needs to be back to the SC4 functioning. We should be able to build freeways, avenues, roads and subways like we wish to instead of being dependent of the layout as we do in SimCity.

About the maps, it needs to be interconnected as it was in SC4 which means tiles against tiles. My goal when I play SimCity is to be able to build a giant metropolis with different parts interconnected to each other. I missed that in the last installment. Not only the tiles were too small but there was also huge chunks of space between them. So you had a huge packed city then miles of forest before reaching another packed city. I hate that and our creation is just too limited because of that.

If those changes could be implemented then it would be a great game for sure.:bunny:

I agree, that it should be the next generation of SC4. Furthermore, there needs to have a commercial tourism zoning, along with the zoning of specific industries such as ore, oil, forest, aerospace.

In additional, cruise ship buildings along with streetcars and maglev should become part of the transport system.

I suggest for more power options such as microwave, fusion and wave power plants.

Here is a list of buildings that should be included for SimCity 6.

    http://SimCity.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_city_government_buildings

    http://SimCity.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_City_Health_and_Laboratory_buildings

    http://SimCity.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_City_Parks_and_Recreational_Buildings

    http://SimCity.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Religious_buildings

In addition, I think arcology, wind turbines, hydro dams, and scenarios  along with the option for unlimited simoleons should be included as well.

SimCity 4 is too old. It could be risky to run on Windows 10. EA needs to consider feedback from gamers and take ideas from people outside of their company.
