    Hello everyone,

This is my first post so please forgive any errors regarding the etiquette of this site. I have found similar issues to mine while reading this forum but I think mine is a little different.

    My problem is:

I have been given Sim City 4 Deluxe edition for Christmas, the trouble is that it very often freezes or resets my PC ( Just reboots all on its own ) This happens very often and is most cases within 1 min of playing the game.

I am running the very latest patch (UPDATE_SKU2_TO_P1_B638 )for Sim City and the very latest Video card drivers. There were no issues while installing the game.

    Here is my PC spec.

So far, all I can say is make sure you have the right SKU patch for the part of the world you bought the game in.  And have the proper DirectX driver [i think at least V.9.0b].

    Welcome to our community.

You seem to have everything you need. As insurance I suggest putting your virtual memory up to 3072MB with a max of 4096.

If you don't have update 1, get it (for your region). I would download it and install it manually.

If you have many plugins, I would go over them to check which ones you really need. Plugins become a permanent part of the memory load when the game starts up.

EDIT: Make sure all your drivers, including the ones for your motherboard, are current.

Are you using the NAM (network addon modd), if so, are you using the GLR (ground light rail modd) because hovering over GLR puzzle peices or stations will cause the game to crash.

    Hello,

Thanks for the replies so far.

I do not have any add ons , mods or 3rd party software running. Just the bare game no additions apart from the patch which I applied in hope that it would fix my issue. I have made sure it was from the right region etc..

All drivers are up to date.

Have increased virtual memory as suggested.

    Best regards
