Does it run on HP G62?

Hello.

I am going to buy a computer second hand (a HP G62) and I would like to know if I can run cities: skylines on it (it's mostly what I want to do in it, since I own a Mac for all other personal tasks). I am totally illiterate when it comes to processors and video cards so I was hoping someone could help me out. Thanks in advance?

The specs of the computer:

HP G62 (bought in 2014)

Processor Intel Core i5-430M (3M Cache, 2.26 GHz)

RAM 4GB DDR3

Graphics Card HDMI ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470

Graphics Intel HD Graphics

Sorry friend, I doubt it will run with the specs you have listed. If it does, it will perform very poorly and you're likely not going to get much enjoyment out of it.

Steam has the minimum processor listed as ~3.0GHz, the level of agent simulation on the processor makes this one of the more important parts. It's tough to run a simulation heavy game on a laptop.
Similar situation with the RAM and video card, you meet the minimum RAM requirements, but that is assuming no assets from the workshop. I don't know if modding is your thing, but many feel strongly that this game is only really brought alive by the community of modders and asset creators.

Since you're looking at second-hand, I'm going to assume there's a budget constraint. Forgive me if there's not, but computers don't really hold up on the secondary market like cars do. Performance increases and Cost decreases as Time goes on, you'll want something new to ensure you're getting the best value.

Do you happen to be in a position to have the space for a desktop PC?
If you do, It's a much wiser choice. By building a computer, you can start small, within your budget, and incrementally upgrade parts as needed; it's very tough to do that with a laptop.
You don't need to to study computer science for 5 years to build it yourself either! Many step by step guides have been written online that will walk you through everything about the build, not to mention that it's good experience and you'll be a genius compared to those who are simply too scared to try.

Take a look here: https://elitegamingcomputers.com/good-cheap-gaming-computers/ or look through some recommended parts guides elsewhere on the internet (just make sure to check the date so you can get the most recent info)

By in large, PC parts are pretty linear with their naming conventions, an i7 is better than an i5 which is better than an i3 (but seriously stay away from an i3, most games aren't as processor heavy as C:S)
You can use the recommended specs on the steam store page (http://store.steampowered.com/app/255710/) to see what you can get away with.

I hope you can find what you're looking for, best of luck!
