Using the NHP Slope Mod

I have recently installed the NHP slope mod and I am having some trouble using it. In particular my existing roads have  become unmaintainable. I cannot even do a simple modification without demolishing almost the entire road and surrounding lots. Am I doing something wrong? Is there an easer way to use this mod that i'm missing? Is there a handy guide out there I can use?

Thanks!

When Maxis made the game, they wanted it to be accessible to a large majority of players. As such, realism was thrown under a bus, allowing ridiculously bumpy terrain and slopes almost everywhere. This is great if you just want to play the game and couldn't care less about looks. But to make slopes more restrictive, it totally changes what tolerances the game must work within. So you may find many existing setups have problems with them.

The key is often to demolish a 3x3 area around any given intersection/junction you are trying to connect. Make the junction first, then drag from that to connect up your networks. If when you drag, it still won't let you, keep demolishing small sections of the network away from the junction, until it will. For all but the most challenging scenarios, that should be enough to make things cooperate. If you've many connections in a small area, ideally the land needs to be flat where they come together. Use stubs (clicking with road/rail instead of dragging). When you place stubs together, it will flatten each tile you click upon.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.
