Welcome to page 2!

That looks like a realistic, small hospital complex! I don't know if you want the parking garage wall textures so bright or not... The blue railing has got to be toned down.

Other that that, looking great Becca!

I think you have grasped the essence in very short time - just work with your props and textures (I know, it is a tiring job), and your Trauma Center will shine!

I think your Trauma Center is coming along fine.

Well as Mickebear sayed you need to work a bit more on the textures. The color is a bit too solid.

On the Omnibus there is an article by Gascooker on Using Photoshop's Dodge & Burn to Fake Ray-Tracing .

Very useful article .. As with all my other BATs and LOTs I will revist this in the future and do even more with it. For now I have done what I can with the tools I have (Don't have PhotoShop 8.gif at this time.)

Gimp should be a program very similar to PhotoShop. It's a free program which comes from Linux and now available for windows too. Maybe you can have a look at it. It do open PhotoShop (psd) files.

The download pages for windows. You will need to download and install the GTK+ 2 for Windows before the The Gimp for Windows.

Thanks to both .. I've posted the BAT/LOT for now, consider it version 1.0. I will go back later and upgrade. I have PaintShop Pro, works pretty good for the most part. My bigest problem is not knowing what to do to improve things, which is why I rely on the comments I get here. Each new thing I do, I add to it that wich I have learned. I have 4 other projects on my plate right now, and when I get them done, I plan to go back to my previous work and upgrade them all.

Wow - this looks really great and so much better than the in-game hospital.

I tried using GIMP, but couldn't really get it to work (impatience on my part rather than the program) but I did manage to get the sort of 'fake-ray' stuff on a roof texture with 'Microsoft picture it photo' which I think just comes standard with windows XP.

By no means will it do the stuff that GIMP and photoshop programs, but with a few cuts and pastes, you can actually change the illusion of brightness gradients quite well...

But, this looks excellent and I can't wait to see it on the exchange!

It's there now! I will however do some updates after I get a few other projects finished.

Becca (if I may call you Becca), Paintshop Pro does all those things that you need (don't have to have Photoshop), but I wouldn't know exactly what menus etc, as I don't have the program. Things that I have been made remarks to (in my thread: Mickebear's Istrinian BATs ...) are especially texturing, and I have found these pieces of advise extremely helpful: Dodge and Burn Texturing by Gascooker ; Texturing by 6459978 . They really helped me to a different level. Mind you, my models are not as complex as yours, but they are full of detail.

Btw, you trauma centre did go fine, and I can understand the haste that you want to put your product in STEX. Now I no longer have that haste before I feel good about my project - unfortunately I am perfectionist.

Thanks for the Threads, found them very useful. Check out my newest project in my main thread, you'll see I am putting it to good use already. I did feel like I needed to get the Trauma Center out, at least in a Beta version, if you will. Never fear, I will be making updates. I want to learn to do a few other things, like custom UIs, custom Icons, etc.
