Silly litigation.

It is a really nice building, but it is a Muslim tomb.

Strange, I thought Muslims, or at least Sunni Muslims, believe that tombs are sacrilegious.  I, however, have known that the Taj Mahal was built as a tomb.

I wonder why they bothered, The buildings history is very well known and documented, not sure if anyone has ever questioned its origins? Besides it's a Unesco World Heritage site now anyway,Muslim tomb or Hindu temple probably makes no difference at this point.

Nah those practices change depending on the location. There are a number of Muslim areas with quite beautiful tombs. Of course, then you got those idiot extremists that view everything as an affront to God so they blow it up.

Also, this isn't so much silly litigation by a bunch of lawyers with nothing better to do but more an expression of the increasing intolerance in India against its Muslim minority. What better way to antagonize Muslims than by claiming one of the most famous buildings in the world is not actually the product of their culture, not part of their cultural heritage. Its a good thing the courts rejected this.

The reason there is a small Muslim minority in India is due to the actions of Jinnah in 1947 insisting on the setting up of Pakistan to reduce the inter-sectarian violence.  It was a very bloody time.

And now, we have two members of the nuclear club threatening each other regularly.  This is a reason why religious faith should be a strictly personal matter and not a matter of state.
