Hi, I do not know if this has been asked before or not or if there is a tutorial on this, but is it possible to convert an SC4Lot/SC4Desc from one zone to another or a landmark to a zone? Thanks.

Yes and no. I wouldn't take an existing desc/lot and try to "re-route" it to a different zone/type. I'd rather take an existing building and create a new set of desc and lot for it.

Once you have a model, you can turn it into anything (growable residential, hospital, landmark... anything) and then make a corresponding lot for it (which will determine growth stage, zone, and density).

What is it exactly that you're interested in converting? Having a clear example to look at may make it easier to explain.

Trying to convert a landmark into a residential lot. If creating a new lot is more practical, then I will just do that then. Thanks for the info.

Yes, making new desc and lot files from scratch eliminates a lot of possible causes for error. I consider it to be the "cleaner" approach.

Have a care.  If the residential lot is ploppable it can't be seen by the pathfinder and will be abandoned pretty quickly.  Make sure it is growable.

PIM-X is able to convert landmarks to growables without issue...

It is not difficult to manually convert a building from one occupant type to another. Capacity Satisfied, Occupant Types and Occupant Groups must be changed in the building exemplar, and the LotConfigPropertyZoneTypes, LotConfigPropertyWealthTypes, and LotConfigPropertyPurposeTypes properties need to be changed in the lot file. Once these are altered to match the new occupant type in mind, PIM-X can do the rest and balance the building's numbers to reflect its new designation.

If a mistake was made during the process, PIM-X will not see the building and/or lot file.
