Game not working with new suscribed items

 Apparently, I am not the only one facing this strange issue. Unfortunately, so far, no solution provided.

Now that After Dark is running, the file (255710), containing the suscribed items, is acting like it cannot accept more of them. Every time new assets, even just one, are added to the file the game can't start, impossible to reach the menu. Once they are removed, the game goes back to work.
Played with almost a 1000 items before the update, and not a single problem.

Checked the integrity of the cache a few times (got a message though saying: 5 files failed to validate) Could not find which ones.
Runned a utility program to remove any errors that could occur somewhere, unsuscribed and resuscribed...and even reinstalled the game.
Just ran out of ideas or solutions...Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I don't have an answer but I have a similar problem. I recently reinstalled, made all new subscriptions, and verified game cached, and then my game wouldn't go past the paradox interactive splash screen. I had no problems before After Dark with over 1000 assets. I got down to 937 assets before the game would start again. I have a high end gaming pc but as of now, 937 assets seems to be my limit.

Really strange indeed...Why some people and not others...? My file cannot accept more than 873 items...

I do not think that it is a PC issue. It is my first problem with the game, had none at all before. The game...? If it was, more players would face the problem, I think. What about Steam...? Someone on another forum suggested to reinstall the game store and by obligation the game itself a second time. I've decided to do that. Waiting for the results...

Hi,

try to delete the following files: gameSettings.cgs and userGameState.cgs under: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines. That solved the problem for me. I had 200 assets temporarly removed from the asset folder and after deleting those 2 files I could added them again - game started without problems and with all of my 1091 assets.

Ok, So I am having the same issue. But There IS a simple answer. 

The mod you have got might have not been compatible with other mods, or they just don't work. Just delete those ones, and that's that. Look for new mods to play and have fun with.
