Hmm...I'm saying that yayo modified the settings of the Dirt Road Mod or something similar to use the road texture instead of the normal street texture when R$$$ Buildings build next to it.

That black street pic is probably from pre-beta screenshots. You will see in some SC4 beta screenshots different buildings, and the streets were black. Otherwise someone has just changed the skins of the streets, like the dirt road mod etc...

Yes, but in your sig it says that you are working on a black street mod, but it is neat.

I guess the rain modd can be used as a disaster. And It's especially interesting because it doesn't destroy any of the buildings. With lots of batting I could recreate my Great Flood of Jupiter......

Whatever happened to Tierusu, anyway? RLS?

Yes i used the extra terrian tools mod, and it really does wonders for a sunken city in distress..lol
I will probably have more if you want to see

Duke87, if you did some form of flood mod, that would be awesome. Its a pity there isnt one in the disasters when maxis created the game

Well, the great flood of jupiter, basic story:

A huge spacecraft carrying enourmous quantities of manufactured water for terraforming purposes experiences a problem and breaks in half, making enough water for at least two planets come gushing out and raining down on the nearest planet- Jupiter. The Year is 6988 A.D. The sea level of the entire planet rose 8,000 feet within a few minutes (the time it took for the tidal wave to sweep around) 90% of the planet's population was wiped out. The largest urban area in the Milky Way, Capitol City and Ulto-Capt, are 2,000 feet off of normal sea level. The flood left the tops of buildings sticking out- but we're talking about anything below the 600th floor being submerged. This area contains countless buildings that are taller than that. The tallest at the time would have been the Kenex Tower, rising to a grand total of 1,190 stories, or 11,900 feet, and therefore 13,900 feet off of sea level. Now, not only would i not be very skilled with BATting but:

A) My copy of the game hasn't worked in months anyway, I need a new computer....
B) I can't download gmax for some reason. I always get The page can not be displayed when I click to do so. I suspect Norton Internet Security. But since my mom is so security freaky and paranoid and very protective of the computer, she refuses to even try to do anything about it. I can't do anything about it myself because I don't have computer administrator priveleges. Again, my mom's paranoya and protectiveness.
C)Given the scale of the buildings and such even compared to a large map, it might end up looking rediculous. My personal estimates say that maximum ground elevation in SC4 is about 8,000 feet. The snowcapped terrain mod seems to whiten anything above 2,500 feet or thereabouts.
D)I'm not that skilled at getting the ideas out of my head and onto paper. I doubt I'd even be able to generate anything worthy of using as a building in gmax anyway... Even if I could, I don't know I'd want to pour the time into it. Especially since even once you have it fully modeled, a 1000+ story building would probably take forever to render, and I can't monopolize a computer like that for hours and hours on end. There are other people in my house that use the 2 PC's.
E) There's the whole long run/short slide issue. I'm generally lazy, and while using such a building in-game would be fun, making it wouldn't. Something that's not fun and not required for school or anyhting will never get done and only worked on when I'm bored, which rarely happens.

Conclusion: would be cool, would make some great screenshots, but It ain't happening without several miracles.

That's one of the many reasons I'm glad that this computer is mine, and nobody else's... My mum doesn't use the computer and my brother has his own computer, so I have my computer to myself most of the time.

I'm also now the only administrator on this computer (I just demoted my brother's account to a limited account 18.gif) I don't particularly want my brother having that sort of access rights!)...

Thats a good story to start off with if you want to make a city journal with.  Like in the end you can make a city journal about your city at the height of its pinnacle, and then it gets destroyed by some huge worldwide disaster like massive flood...:):)

Well, again:

-No BAT skills

-The city in question is the size of the state of Connecticut. a region that big would take forever to build, and and an eternity to load.

-None of the buildings in it look anything like those in simcity. Most of the SC4 buildings aren't tall enough to even fit in. Most of the lesser buildings are just giant rectangular prisms stretching several hunderd stories into the air on a footprint of one city block.

-The transportation could never be made realistic, since the streets are narrow and the subway system is very extensive, but due to sheer size stops end up being few and far between. Most people just use teleporters to get around. Cars and trains are the scenic way of traveling, for if you have time to kill or want to have fun. Granted, teleporters were invented long after the city was founded along with the rest of terraformed jupiter in 3211 A.D. Before them, people seldom left their homes for anything other than shopping or recreation. Most Everyone worked at home via the internet. Walking was also popular.

-The lake the city sits on the east shore of is 20 miles wide and nearly a mile deep in most places. SC4 can't make water that deep.

-Highways spend a lot of time underground, sometimes having underground interchanges. Most are wider than six lanes.

-It's total population exceeds 20 billion people, half of which aren't even human, but are members of other intelligent species.

I satisfy myself with putting it on paper in the form of maps and drawings. I'll stick to that, thanks.....

The Flood of Jupiter reminds me of something I wanted to make myself for SC4, but I would need to make many mods, custom maps, custom ploppables, and the region would be a circle with radius of 150 km, which is about 17,671 medium cities. I wonder how long it would take to render that..........
