Alkaola : Yes, i live in Tromsø.5.gif

As you know, Norway is a small country, but the distanse from south to north is long, so the country have many different types of clima zones.

Tromsø is much further north than the arctic circle and have the same attitude as Nothern Canada and is further north than most of Alaska. Because of this, we have no sun for about 7-8 weeks from end of November to mid January. At the darkest there is daylight for only 1,5 hour.

At the summertime, we have the midnight sun, who shine from May to beginning of August. With no darkness at night.

Since its so far north, there is much northern lights during the winter. And its usually much stronger than what you might be used to.

There's usually no fog (average 2,7 days a year), and thunder lightnings are very rear and if it happen then only in July or begining of August.

Tromsø is protected from much stormy weather by its surrounding mountains, but you should expect 5-10 stormy days each year. However, if you goes further out the coast, there is more windy weather. And if you drive north to Finnmark County, then you should be very careful during the winter. The weather is very unpredictable. It can look like a very nice weather at one moment, and 30 minutes later, there is a big snow storm raging around you, where you barely can see further than your own hand.

Normal temperature during the winter are from +3C° to -9C° at January. At summer normal is from +12C° to 24C°.

In 1997 There had been snowing so much in Tromsø, that it was 2,1 meter deep in end of April. The next year, it never came higher than 30 cm.

Well, it became a bit much. So i will stop now. But if you want to know more, you can find some information at :

Clear and warm.  Expecting showers and warmer tomorrow.

Ordinarily, I'd say that the weather here in Los Angeles is perfect. However, with no air conditioning in my 40s-era apartment, I'm presently taking a sweat-bath. My room feels like it's around 80
