    Oh, guys, thanks for viewing this CJ, it's cool to see a hot topic icon next to it 48.gif
    Pity, but i don't have enough time to prepare a good update,
    but i have my CS4 back to life! It's totally reinstalled now, and it works perfect 39.gif
    So, when i'll have few free hours.. oh, well.
    But any way, since i have my SC4 back, i was able to finish some testing of an updated version of my pier.
    I know that people love it - i still can see it in some cool CJs, so i've decided to make it a bit more intresting to use:

    mrrst_pier_2.0.jpg

    It's already on the STEX now, so go here if you wanna get it 2.gif:

    Hmm, their really shouldn't be boats on a pier. Piers are usually just fishing and observation platforms, sometimes with a seafood resturaunt at the base.

    I didn't want to clog up your cj,so attached to this post is a zip file with some pictures and explinations. Please read the readme for discriptions of the pics.

    I remember that pier, its great! 10.gif I'm sure I used to have it but I don't know where it went? 42.gif Marrast, is there any chance you could do one without the beach texture underneath? Maybe make it tie in more with the brown brick texture of your seawalls instead? That would be sweet. (Of course, I could stop being lazy and change it myself in the LE... 41.gif)

    I've just had a re-read through the journal, and gained some fresh inspiration as always. There's something about the way you present it that makes your cities look not only very professional, but extra realistic. Maybe its the resolution you play at, or do you sharpen up the images or something? I can't get my pictures looking that good. Ah well, an Eladremme challenge, and another raising of the CJ bar. 18.gif

    Cheers and keep up the great work (hopefully an update too soon?! 29.gif) 44.gif

    Ah, excellent pier. I never got around to downloading that, since it didn't quite work properly.

    As for the sand texture, it can't be changed, since it's most probably a BSC custom texture. Though, I'm not sure if that's one of Maxis' overlay textures...

    BTW, look at my sig.

    Hi every one over here! :} It's been soooo long!.. Oh, well, I better go and answer to some comments first 48.gif
    Thank you all soo much for your comments and viewing! It's a great pleasure to see the CJ views still growing :}

    Also, BIG thanks to Mayor Tim and Shadow_Assassin for adding this CJ to their signatures! It's such a pleasure! :}

    Ok. Now some answers :}

    To Mayor Tim: Oh, yes, i know what you talking about :} But i'd like to say - when i was only creating a GMax model of it, i've choose a pier, that acts like a small marina or something. That's why you can see those descents to the water.

    To Will Silver: Oh, may be, you know :} But i must finish my BPS Project first - it the point of honour! 18.gif
    Thanks for your great words about Eladremme :} And yes, i use Photoshop to enhance ingame shots :} Particularly, i use 'sharpen' effect to make my pics more... sharpen, huh :}

    To Shadow Assassin: It didn't? Oh, i hope it works well now :} Thanks for your words and again for your support! :}

    Aaallright! Finnaly.. an update!!! :}

    Mezonrech Communty.

    If you remember, in the last update i've show you a transportation layout of the future housing community with the railway station Mezonrech Plantations. This update is about developing of this community.

    Mezonrech is the east outskirt of the Etsaw. The place, where the town is ends, and the country begins. Fields, farms, cottages... It is a part of the general layout - to place all the heavy industry at the west, and agriculture at the east of Etsaw.

    So, here is a transportation scheme of Etsaw at this moment:

    align=baseline>

    Next time, i'll show you a map with the names of each Etsaw commuity and most important objects of the town.
    And now i'll show you the community itself.
    Aerial view:

    align=baseline>

    This community will have a hugest farmers market in the town in the future. It will be a center of the agriculture of the P.U.O. district (Only a district, because Eladremme will have another regional agriculture center).

    Here is a small explanation of the community infrastructure. You can see some zoned commercial areas for the future markets and such. Also, the community will be divided in two parts - low wealth housing area, and medium wealth housing area. At the right, you can see some cottages with gardens:

    align=baseline>

    Here is some shots of the passenger station, freight terminal and some stores:

    align=baseline>

    align=baseline>

    And this is a low wealth hounsings of Mezonrech. You can see the power line goes througt it. It is a regional power line that will provide with energy all the farms at the east of Etsaw:

    align=baseline>

    But still, this is a peaceful and quiet place to live in:

    align=baseline>

    And in the end, a shot of the cottages, where eladremmians can spend the summer working on their gardens:

    align=baseline>

    That's all for today! :}
    I hope the next update will not take so long :}

    Wow... nice job on the (I assume...) Soviet-esque housing blocks.  You managed to get the desolate high-rise feel there.  (If anyone isn't sure what I'm talking about, Google Soviet housing)
    BTW: Nice railyard!

    I'm honoured to do my 200th post in your CJ because after all this time I still like your style and your pictures are still awsome 31.gif

    However, I have a small complaint (I think it's the first time in all my posts here 18.gif) about the very last picture.  Don't you think the small houses are too spaced? Maybe it's because I'm used to build North american suburbs where houses are all close together. This also brings this question (I don't remember if you have said it before) but are you building an european, american or russian (you are from Russia right?) city? All my cities are influenced by the fact that I live in an american suburb and that's what I know the most. So my cities tend to look like an american suburb whatever I try to do 18.gif.

    So I assume your cities reflect in some ways what cities look like where you live. Therefore I have no idea how russian suburbs look like, but in my case, I would greatly reduce the size of the yard of these houses.

    Anyway, continue the excellent work! 44.gif

    You know that this is a great journal and a very clean and nice city building concept, i learn something with this journal and in you sign a read that 1tile in simcity is 16x16m, and i think that helps with building a city.
    Keep this journal alive.

    Sweet update Marrast! Now I know your photoshop secret, I'll have to start sharpening up my pics too 38.gif! People have used the word 'clean' and I think that fits your cities quite well, because everything seems exactly as you'd want it to be. You must also spend years in the LE getting the lots exactly right! Personally, I think that's one of the best ways to play the game because it looks unique. 31.gif

    Hope its not too long until the next update, and BPS!!

    Oh, thanks for waching and comments, guys! =:}
    Now, some answers to some questions, huh 5.gif

    To Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya: Oh, i can tell you about those spaced cottages :} Those yards it's just something like a private garden plots. Actually all of them must be fenced because it's a private property :} I just don't wanna make more custom lots for that 5.gif There is a lot of such type of the suburbs in Russia.

    But also there will be some cottages without such a large garden yards with more building dencity :}

    To Speedy: Oh, it's one of my own custom lots, made for this region. Based on a blank medium wealth industry lot. All the props a by Maxis. If you look at the page... oh.. how could i miss that! By favourite railyard pics! I should get it back.. look at the bottom of the post :} These warehouses was made for the freight railyard :}

    Ok, guys. I just thought that would be great to show you some pics that was gone a long time before. Some old pics. May be i will insert them back to the old updates, but at this moment, I'll show you these pics here :}

    First of all, the old pic, that shows us a situation of the Etsaw. Etsaw is a Power and Utilization District (P.U.O. District) that will serve the whole region. At this pic you can see a very beginning of the Etsaw construction. It's really small comparing to this moment.

    align=baseline>

    Next pic is an old, i mean, really old scheme of Etsaw. Don't look at the transport plan, a lot of things have been changed, especially in the residential zone. But the main objects are still there:

    align=baseline>

    On this pic you can see a regional land fill. This landfill will serve the whole region.

    align=baseline>

    Sewage Treatment Facility is a part of the landfill:

    align=baseline>

    A toxic waste facility that was constructed to serve the Ipsum Cemicals Plant :

    align=baseline>

    And this is a regional power facility. Was constructed to provide the whole region with power:

    align=baseline>

    And this is my favourite Etsaw freight railyard. At this time, the warehouses are reconstructed a little. May be i'll show you a pic one day 5.gif:

    align=baseline>

    And in the end, first communication centre in Eladremme, situated at the Etsaw highest Llams mountain:

    align=baseline>

    So, this was a repost of the old pics that was lost when my old hosting account was deleted.
    Enjoy! :}

    P.S. Strange thing.. i didn't find Eladremme CJ thread in the  most active section at all30.gif
    It should be somewhere at the fourth page but.. oh well.

    Update: Oh, it's already there 48.gif

    The whole idea of centralized utilities is excellent. Along with the industry and rail lines, you've given Etsaw a very real look. 44.gif

    I just couldn't get the stairs to line up perfectly with the ground, lol, but it should be fine now, btw, you should create a custom foundation for that lot...

    And great update, and I agree with Cjah, it's got a very Eastern Euro with a splash of USSR, it's got a very socialist feel to it [in other words - one size fits all. 18.gif]

    Awesome update! I really like the centralized utilities idea and it also looks great. And that's a BIG landfill! I really like the powerstation with it's power lines. But do you use neighbour deals????? Anyway, your cj do have a Russian feel. Keep it up, this cj is great!

    EDIT: Where did you get that community housing? I know created you some of them. The modest Euro Housing thing (it's perfect BTW), but I mean the bigger housings. Thanx in advance.44.gif

    Wow, thanks for the comments, guys! :}
    Actually, i don't know how this CJ came out to be so russian or Eastern European, but any way, glad that you like it :}

    About this landfill and stuff. Sure i'll use neighbour connections to provide the city squares with energy and water. In the future, i should create something like a regional water reservoir with treatment facilities and such. This reservoir will provide the whole region with fresh clean water :}

    Ok! Today i just want to show you some pics of what i'm workin' on now.
    Finnaly, i've started to build the Eladremme itself. I mean, the city. Not another attendant town like Etsaw.

    Here are few shots of the main avenue:

    align=baseline>

    align=baseline>

    Actually, it's something like a testing of building style. The downtown of Eladremme still don't have a general layout, so there is a lot of work there.
    So i was just trying to imagine the future of Eladremme :}

    Hope you like it :}
    Cheers!
