Welcome to Trastistjikistanimanidan as of now it's not a city yet, not even a village it's just how the area is called.

Trough the area are a few highways linking some major city's and villages together. Only because the area has a good amount of trees in it some logging was done. 5 pioneers started developing their logging efforts here. As you can see they already took out large portions of the old forests. One freight station takes all the goods they produce to other area's for further processing.

This looks like it's going to be very cool.  I love starting with a handful of separated hamlets.

@ tSlater. I kinda have an idea of how I want to continue. With relocating of industries, new discoveries of resources, these are reasons to start new communities and creating little hamlets. I am not afraid to (partially) destroy some of these if areas get a decline in available jobs for whatever reason.

    Update 2

New industries making use of the local timber industries started popping up near the freight station. A restaurant and gas station completed the area of industry. Electricity and water were bought from Cannes a city nearby.

Efforts were made in clearing the remaining trees around Ammity and Woody's. Contracts were made with all 5 of the local lumber company's to clear the area of all the trees. Because the increase in jobs created a demand in more residential areas. The location is maybe not the best one. surrounded by railroads with loads of timber products being exported to other city's. But investors have their reasons. Nice villa near a clean river, that is worth a little bit of cash. But for now they invest in low wealth housing to rent out to the workers.

Woody's and Ammity relocated to other areas. Woody's made a huge gamble by going all the way south. An area with loads of trees but more difficulties getting the products out. Ammity went for a place closer to the highway, a few pockets of trees still remaining there.  Choices, time will tell what will come of these.

Picture below is the new area for Woody's

A full update then, and now there is actually life.  I cant wait for more unique buildings, farms and all of the good things.

I hope you like these pictures I just cant get the angle right sometimes. I also think the tree brush is a bit to enthusiastic. but still beter then plopping trees one by one.

Allright what has happened. An entire town was build around the factory's. Mostly for the working class hero's. Located in the town is one clinic most of the services arre located in a city nearby. but with 3.000 inhabitans they dont need much. They  just get the job that is kinda how this town is. It s got a name sure, Xarthe it is. Other towns or actually hamlets are Florith and Woody's.  They came into existence after the relocating of Woody's and Amity two logging companies.

Around Amity more farmland will become available. Maybe even a bit more residential later on. But for now the people want jobs. The industrial area in Xarthe will be extended mainly because of the good timber industry.. The roads there are geting a bit stuck with all the local freight being transported to other city's, so factories might have to move. Florith and Woody's will grow very slowly. Other towns and hamlets might pop up somewhere.

The number of inhabitans for the currents town are:

    Xarthe: 3406

    Amity: 964

    Florith: 77

    Woody's: 32

    image.jpg

    image.jpg

    image.jpg

That was Xarthe now over to Florith

    image.jpg

    And Woody's

And an overview of the area.

Allright, I hope everyone liked this update. Critisim is always welcome, need to try a new mod or building? please tell me.

I like all the small towns, can't wait to see how future growth will shape them all

Me, to I actually cant wait till I can start zoning bulding mid rise res and com.

But i'm building very, very slow.

Very nice, I especially like the residentials and the farms, so realistic

Thank you, with a bit of creativity and with help from the steam community, we can overcome the lack of decent farms in cities skylines.

    Great work! Also realistic

Thank, I'm trying to be as realistic as possible. But the farms create quite a lot of traffic already, nothing my roads cant handle yet, but I have to see if that will be the case in the future.

Great update mate! What are those row houses? 1x2? Custom? Stock?

The row houses are 3x4 or 4x4 and are already in the game itself. I did not dowload a lot of buildings from steam just yet. And I dont create them myself.

Nice collection of towns, and I like the layout of the farms too!

    Glad you like it.

    Update 4

The timber industry is doing quite well and as a repsonse to that, the industry in Xarthe expanded. But not before a part of it got demolished to make room for a new 6 lane road. Since the entire area uses that road to export and import products to the highway or to the freight station. I have to say traffic is quite decent with that road in place.

Workers, we need workers. Xarthe was full with seniors, right when the industry got it's expansion done. People started getting old. Something needed to be done, around 400 new home should be build in the next three years. Xarthe and Amity are the main areas for this.

Old neighbourhoods also get their fair share of improvements. New supermarkets and a school for Xarthe and Amity.

Other hamlets are growing, but very slowly for now. Florith and Woody's are not indcluded in this update.

    4.1

The improved and extended industrial area.

    Update4_1.jpg

    4.2

    New location for residents.

    Update_4_2.jpg

    4.3

Another location for residents in the south of Xarthe.

    Update4_3.jpg

    4.4

More and more houses are already being build near the farms. Mostly by wealthier people buying a piece of land and building their own home.

    Update_4_4.jpg

    4.5

    Supermarkets in Xarthe.

    Update4_5.jpg

    4.6

    Amity

    Update4_6.jpg

    4.7

    Amity and it's commercial.

    Update_4_7.jpg

    4.8

Amity, one day massive mansions will be build here.

    Update_4_8.jpg

    4.9

    New developments in Xarthe.

    Update_4_10.jpg

    4.10

    New developments.

    Update_4_9.jpg

    4.11

    South of Xarthe.

    Update_4_11.jpg

    4.12

How could we forget, a village by the lake, Trostan we've named it. People wanted to live here because the water quality is exceptionally good. they say the water has healing powers. Drawing in hordes of believers, now bathing in this water. Of course the local goverment build a water pump over here to give the best water to the enire region, they say.

Not far afway from here a new family park is being contstructed, with nice accommodations to spend your hollidays.

    Update_4_12.jpg

    4.13

    The recent developments.

    Update_4_13.jpg

Future developments. More farms, 6 lane road gets extended maybe even all the way towards Florith. Couple of houses here and there. A new shopping centre for Xarthe. And very likely a bus depot will be planted somewhere.

Hope you all like this update.

Since there are no replies with questions I just thank you all for watching.

During this weekend I thought I had lost this city. With the update to 1.07b giving problems with old saves. But even with the rollback to 1.06b my city could still not load. After some time I gave up and was watching some documenturies about urban planning learned a bit for later in this series. I also look around at real city's with google earth I learned that pressing z will not bring you any closer. Spread out and with loads of parking space is what I see.

Anyway I saved my save, by turning of the ghost mode in the zonable pedestrian mod. The only problemI have right now is that I cant get into free camera mode. So these pictures are not so great, but I'm already happy that I at least can show a few pictures.

    Update 5

    The growth of a town

Florith is growing, large quantities of ore have been found nearby in the mountains. Florith was an excellent location to house all the new workers.  It really was a nice place near the highway.  No trees and the ones that are there, being chopped down by the local timber industry.

Other notable changes in the area. In Xarthe the planned commercial area has been constructed. The infrastructure got a little bit improved  the 6 way now runs from Florith trough Xarthe near Amity and then to the highway. Some overpasses and one ways in downtown Xarthe seperates the local traffic from all the export trucks. A new freight station serves the area around Ammity.

    5.1

    Florith is growing.

    5.5

    The new vacation park.

    image.jpg

    5.5

Great economic booster for the area this mining business.

    image.jpg

    5.6

Looks a bit dangerous this bridge.

    image.png

    5.7

Last commercial building being constructed. Plans for further expansion are being proposed already.

    image.jpg

    5.8

The area around Xarthe. There are a few spaces left for further development.  There are proposals for that, but the main area for growth now lies around Florith.

    image.jpg

    Other plans:

    Bus routes

Further development of the commercial zone in Xarthe.

Going further south for development of high wealth housing near the sea.

Probably some housing for the poor around the new ore industry.

Extension of the ore industry itself.

Hope you all enjoyed this update.

You have a great style of playing. I can see you use the controllbuildinglevelupmod all the time with those housing estates. The effect is really good and I look forward to more.

    Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

    This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage
