where do I find/go what version I have; simcity deluxe

First off how was it installed? If it came from a disk and you've not applied the patches, you will need to install at least the EP1 update, but it's recommended to install the BAT Nightlighting patch if you use custom content also.

 

If you got your copy as an online download, usually it'll be fully patched for you.

 

In any case if you find the SC4 application (.EXE) at this location "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps" (This is the default, if you installed it somewhere else then you need to use that path) and find the file SimCity 4.EXE. Right mouse click and select Properties, click on the Details tab and the file version will be displayed. If you have v1.1.640.0 or higher then you are fully patched .

The version number can be found from your SimCity 4.exe file. This is located where the game's installed, by default in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps".

 

Once you've found this, hover over it with your mouse, or go to the Properties > "Details" tab and check the field named "File version".

 

Versions summary:

1.1.610.0 = North American unpatched game

1.1.613.0 = European unpatched game

1.1.640.0 = EP1 + BAT nightlights update installed

1.1.641.0 = Digital edition, fully patched

Perhaps the quickest way to find the executable is to open the short cut by right clicking it, select properties, and the complete pathname of the executable will be found in the target box enclosed in quotes.  The application is the last element of this string.
