will sc4 run on a gtx 980 and windows 8, i7 haswell

I am planning on building a new pc soon so just to do some advanced planning, i wanted to know if the game works with this hardware:

 

gtx 980 4 gb

i7 haswell 4.0ghz

32 gb ddr3 ram

windows 8 64 bit (i know its not hardware)

960 gb ssd

As long that it runs Windows (7 preferably), runs in 1 core, and there wouldn't be problems during your assembly, I don't see why not?

If you can, run Windows 7.  W 8, esp. 8.1 has some really bad problems that haven't been sorted out completely as yet.  Whether these will be solved in W 10 is not known at this time.

 

BTW, you must be planning on running something fairly chewy with that huge machine.  Hitting SimCity 4 with it will be like taking a sledge hammer to a gnat.  It will require tender loving care.

If you can, run Windows 7.  W 8, esp. 8.1 has some really bad problems that haven't been sorted out completely as yet. 

 

W8.1 will be fine for all intents and purposes.

 

As for the 980GTX, there is absolutely no reason why there would be issues running the game. If it's a fresh build, then I would expect it to be running quite smoothly.
