The Simtropolis High School Conference

I had this idea the other day:

A large number of our members on Simtropolis are in high school, and thus take a particular interest in the education systems of their cities.
Even those on this site who have long passed the halls of public education still must take an active role in providing facilities for the children of their sim-citizens.

So I thought, why not add another degree of realism?
An inter-school conference for inter-high school competition. That is to say:

- Each interested forumer may submit the name of one high school in their simcity, e.g. ( South Fork High School - Jamestown - (forumer name)

I will arrange schedules of sports (football, soccer, baseball, basketball, scholastic bowl, etc.) with each respective school then playing another.
The teams with the best records at the end of the season would then win the division.

To begin with, I would like nine schools total, including mine, which is

Rockton Central High School - Rockton - Airmale007

I will accept the first nine entries. Thanks!

“The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.”

I dont put any schools in my cities, i use a very Leftist style in SC4. i find that if i put in lots of museaums and colleges, my Sims can be as well educated as if they were in school. I also have very little police presence in my cities, wich seems to be going good.

No police? Whoa. Sounds rough. I can't tell if you're kidding or not.

If you want a small pic to go along with your school, let me know; I have hastily made a few.

I like my cities to be in a state of anarchy, i find it interesting, some do well, some dont. i do have SOME police, but mabye 1 or 2 precients, so i can deploy them when something big happens.

First season is thus far full!

The basketball season will begin in one day.
I will use a game to simulate the outcomes, similar to the Simtrop hockey league.
I have also run a preliminary set of games to determine a school's history, which has allowed me to come up with these preseason rankings:

    1 Laura Scott Memorial HS
    2 Myon City Central HS
    3 Hillcrest HS
    4 Jefferson Collegiate
    5 Wharcliffe Academy
    6 Crosswoods HS
    7 Westerfield HS
    8 Neligh-Oakdale HS
    9 Rockton Central HS (18.gif)

    Here is a preliminary schedule:

    Basketball WEEK ONE:

    Rockton Central @ Wharcliffe Academy
    Westerfield HS @ Crosswoods HS
    Myon City Central @ Hillcrest
    Neligh-Oakdale @ Jefferson Collegiate

    Laura Scott Memorial ~bye~

Darn, if only Havillah Municipal High had made it into the conference. It would have been interesting to have teams travel to the east-central Pacific.31.gif

Well, their NJROTC teams are the best in the territory, but I don't think there's much competition.

Alright; I'll post every two days. I want to get conference play and then a final tournament in for the boys basketball, then i'll start in on other sports.

Since I may not be around tomorrow, I'll go ahead and post the week two scores.

    WEEK TWO Results
    Laura Scott Memorial-61  Westerfield HS-45
    Myon City Central-73  Crosswoods HS-69
    Rockton Central-60  Hillcrest-61
    Jefferson Collegiate-65  Wharfcliffe Academy-63

    Neligh-Oakdale ~bye~

The big game between conference titans Jefferson Collegiate and Wharfcliffe Academy was a nail biter. It came down 63-63 with a few seconds on the clock; a foul was called with two free throws awarded to Jefferson Collegiate player Lewis Lewisson, who, much to the dismay of the Wharfcliffe home crowd, nailed both, giving us a final score of 65-63 Jefferson.
