Trying to create my first mod to learn the basics

Hello everyone,

I'm new to modding and I'm trying to learn the basics.
For my first mod, I try to modify the fountain of the "home of the Mayor".
I would like to use it with pedestrian path to create beautiful parks. :)

What I want to do :
  • Fountain ploppable anywhere like treeAnywhere.
  • Move the fountain to the park menu.
  • Reduce the "hitbox".

At first, I tried to copy some treeAnywhere properties to change how it plop, but it didn't seem to work.

Does anyone have advice, resources to learn how to do it?
I've already looked at "TheCraftKid's Guide to Modding" and CapTon's vidéos.

Looking at the fountain in SCP, I've noticed that you have to change the ecoGameToolSnaptoPathGroup property as well. This property can be found in the main fountain file (the one containing the name, description, uiToolCategory, etc). After that (and ensuring that you have followed all steps correctly to make sure that the mod will work), it should work :) however, as idiotic as I can be sometimes, my information could be wrong.

Just an uninteresting person that plays video games for your falsified amusement.

What this guy said. :) (I was going to reply but got sidetracked by other modding stuff.)

Also, HinataaHyuga actually made you are making in question, and you could download it and try to see how you would accomplish what you want. :)

Thank you for your answers :)

I will try HinataaHyuga's mod to compare what she did.

I keep you in touch if I have any other questions. ;)

Now I'm trying to reduce the border of the fountain to place the road closer.

Do you have any idea of which properties to edit ?
