Game Graphs?

In many places I read that the default game graphs like RCI or traffic/commute graphs are broken or with errors.

I use NAM. So does the NAM fixes the graphs or are their any mods or such whose use is recommended to fix the graphs and make them more accurate?

Thank you.

The one graph that seems to be badly broken is the commute time graph.  I don't think there is any attempt to fix it in NAM.  To correct that graph would probably take more code than it is worth.

The commute time graph is actually adjusted by the NAM, and has been for years, and as quoted from NAM documentation, "the NAM [Traffic Simulator] has adjusted the scaling of this graph to provide reasonably accurate numbers for most situations."

The documentation is actually vague on this, even for me; I think it's in hours now... The one person who knows more about this than I do has been quiet for a while, so I can't get a clear answer here.

One thing I have always done with most new programs I get is to assume that if something fails it is my fault and not the problem of the programmer until I can prove otherwise.  Generally, it is usually something I have failed to do, often some detail in the documentation that I have overlooked.  I have located and installed a number of fixes to my software platform this way.

However, one of the problems I have with things coming out of Maxis Studio is that they are always rushed to market before the Q.A. cycle is complete.  The evidence for this is the EP1 patch package for deluxe and a similar one for the original game.  The rush to gold incurs costs which the marketing people refuse to understand.  Chasing the bottom line is generally a foolish endeavour when it cuts into the profits.

I was under the impression that (at least in my game) after installing NAM, the traffic graph got worse. The numbers on the x-axis never made sense, but now it's unreliable even as an index. Luckily, the congestion shown in the data view works great with NAM.

I've never heard anyone say that any of the other graphs have problems; it was always just the traffic one.
