Commuting Patterns

I commute from my hometown to downtown for 30 km in 1.5 hours by bus.

 

Another choice is standing in a local train for 1 hour.

 

How do you go to work?

As I'm currently inbetween school and uni, I can only tell you how I used to get to school: 7min walk to the station, 14min sitting in the train, 4min walking to the school

From October 1st, I'll propably either cycle 15min or walk 2min, sit in the bus for 10 min and walk 1-5 min to lecture.

 

I hope that when I start working, I'll be able to live withing walking distance of work, because, as much as I love driving, I don't like to have to drive, if you understand what I mean...

Currently, according to the transit mobile application:

 

- 2 minutes walking to the metro station.

- 1 minute by metro.

- 5 minute waiting on the interchange for the commuter rail train.

- 12 minutes in one commuter train.

- 3 minutes waiting for another commuter train.

- 22 minutes in another commuter train.

- 5 minutes walking to my workplace.

 

Quite a long commute, but the areas near my workplace are like The Most Boring Place on Earth to Live In.

I don't work at the moment, but for my last job, it was taking a few steps to my car, drive 10 miles in 15 minutes, maybe 20 in heavy traffic, then walk 5 minutes from the parking structure to my workplace.
