Freight trains

I've got a city that's primarily making TVs.  I'm importing plastic and CPUs, and exporting the TVs.  I've got a trade port with a ship port and a train port attached.  Occasionally a ship comes by and delivers or picks up, but I haven't seen a train come yet.  I was wondering if there might be a problem with the rail line connection, so I put a passenger train right next to it.  Now, passenger trains are coming through every few seconds, but still waiting for the first freight train to come through.

You can try closing and re-opening your trade ports. If that doesent work, try destroying  and rebuilding.  Try turning off your shipping port. It may force a train to come. If you are playing on-line, try logging out for a bit. Im just throwing a few suggestions out there.

Trains and ships come at predetermined times. There is a interval between how long the next train or ship will come to pick up or drop off cargo. If you do not have enough resources or money to import or export the item, the shipment will never come. I have literally seen ships sail up to my trade port only to turn away at the last moment because I just imported or exported the same item by truck or had money come out of my city's coffers. If you really want to see the train try bulldozing all of your available trucks at the depot, or increase production of the tv's.

Unless im mistaken, trade depot trucks have no effect on importing/exporting. That is all done by regional trucks. Trade depot trucks are for delivering imported materials only. Thats how it was explained to me anyway.
