Can you completely Omega a town?

I created a town with 40,000 people.  Built up some tourist revenue and an Expo center, building enough money to import the oil and ore to go Omega.  Was able to upgrade my HQ fully.  However with eight drone manufacturing lines, I was kind of expecting the residential houses to all convert pretty quickly.  Issues getting Omega trucks to stores continue to be an issue - why don't they use drones for that?

 

Any tips on making a town go all-omega?  I've got the getting started down pat, but what about further along?

I wouldn't know how to, but I recommend checking out Skyestorme's SimCity videos he's very good with Omega. Or just PM him.

It will be a tough road. You will need tons of omega, tones of drones, and a epic traffic system. I agree with CapTon on contacting Skye Storme.

Okay, I'll look into that.  Also, I try to ship Omega out to neighboring cities (online game) and I get "Your trucks are idling because there is no industry in that city"  I thought you had to have at least SOME industry in your city.

@Rufus, you might want to watch  Skye Storme's video called Omegacow.  It's a series.  I've belt a few of these (before one way roads.)  Lots of $ ...and all of the residential (and commercial and industrial) converts, with tons of gold converts.  ;-)

I really don't like watching Let's Play videos (or listening to podcasts - same reason) because I can read a zillion times faster.  I prefer my info through a firehose in text rather than spoken and receieved through my ears.

 

Long video was loooooooooooooooo ... ooong.  But still very helpful.  Thank you.

UPDATE: Using the tips in long video, what I've been doing is only using half the map for cash-cow omega whatever. 

 

Why?  Well, once I'm rolling in the dough I can use the other side of the map for a casino/tourism/university/whatever I want.
