Hi,

I passing time to play with sc4 and always see old industrial give a lot of garbage and hi-tech doesn't. But if we take consideration of the planned obsolescence, hi-tech give a lot of polluted garbage (as in Ghana or sea) compared to old industries doesn't knew this planned obsolescence.

I would like to know if it was possible to plan a several tweek in sc4 as a NAM for drive and road that it can be called IAM (Industries Add-on Mod).

Most of hi-tech bat have 0 garbage stage, that it's completely impossible in real, there is a lot of : computers, cars, tv, plastic, printers, home coffee machine, etc. And it will give more jobs to manage in-game all this garbage with new one garbage system between cities and new one building, industries.

I think maxis doesn't really took consideration of this planned obsolescence because they thought old industries are dirty and hi-tech is clean and the life is well. The both are dirty and I think hi-tech is worse.

Sincerly.

This is a game.

play it like a game.

many things in this game are not realistic at all.

also these type types of games needs constant research and dev. by big companies but SC4 wouldn't be upgraded anymore by Maxis or EA.

The last time this game was touched by a developer was in 2003 when they issued the EP1 patch.  Since then, nothing much.  This is a legacy game and will not be enhanced by EA.  Frankly, as games go, this one is very long lived and has a rather avid following.

However, the level of micromanagement you are asking for already exists without making it any worse.  If HT garbage is desired, add some using the PIM or make your own BAT buildings/lots.  The point of the openness in this game is you can get what you want.

Also, when you think about it, who actually 'throws away' the hi-tech gadgets?  The Hi-Tech industries don't actually throw away their product, it is the consumer.  The consumer is the producer of hi-tech garbage.  So I guess, since residential does produce garbage, the 'planned obsolescence' is already built in since it is the residential sims that are throwing away their old computers and iphones.
