Hey everyone,

I have been looking for new Indie games a lot lately. Allas my search was usually ended with disappointment..
untill I came across this one: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crytivogames/the-universim I feel it looks promising!

It comes down to a Sim Universe, kind of like Spore but totally different. You start on a planet, grow a civilization, use resources, develop technologies, space exploration and space expansion if your civilization. From the looks of their promotion I think the community might like it, just take a look at the kick-starter. I've been trying to get this to the news-feed as the kick-starter is only 8 days left as of this post and still needs a lot of funding.

What do you guys think of this project?

That game looks amazing, not the simulation game I would normally play, but it looks fun, and challenging enough to destroy many afternoons.

I think the features on the planet, such as the trees and buildings are a bit big in comparison to the size of the planet. I think that the smallest habitable planet should hold at least 16 distinct cities that don't immediately border each-other. This looks as if a typical region in SimCity would be an ecumenopolis in UniverseSim. I don't mind being able to see the curvature of the planet from the view of a city but I do mind being able to have a small neighborhood take up a hemisphere or even a continent.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

Universim is what Spore (third to fifth stages) should have been.

It is very ambitious, but I wish best of luck, as they need much help.
