Offline mode won't work because it can't connect with the server

When I want to play in offline mode, the game tells me it can't connect to te server, then it goes back to the main menu. Why do I get a connection error if i play offline? Do more people experience this (strange) error/bug?

Make sure Origin is in offline mode first.

Sorry to be a bit late, but now the Official Simcity Offline Update is available. To play the Offline mode, be sure to download the patch, let the launcher do what it have to do. Then, you have to be "Online on Origin" (please correct me if I am wrong) and in the main menu, you will have a new button who is wrotten "[Offline mode]" and an other one with "[Online mode]".

I did those steps, still it won't work. It's all very strange. Thanks for the help though.

hi jeffa, yes it worked, but you loose all your saved regions.

make sure you go offline in origin.

I had the same problem, delete mod real popolation and it works

works perfect in online too - there was an issue that was solved the day update 10 came out.

I know this is late but seeking the answer I came into several of the same questions revolving around unable to play in offline mode, having loading screen stuck "connecting to server"

 

I just succeeded in 3 steps. 

1: Restart my android

2: Open Simcity Buildit

3: Airplane mode on

Then I tab back to play Simcity offline.
