SimCity 4 Streaming Problems

Hello everyone,

I recently started streaming SC4 on TwitchTV using OBS.

My first problem is that I can only stream on Windows Mode (Game Capture shows black screen). Is there a way to fix that? With that said I use Windows mode and Trilliam + Always on Top (This way I can see and chat directly in-game since I only use one monitor. The problem is every time I chat the game music restarts when I go back to the game. How can I fix it?

Best Regards,

Tarkata

All of this is pretty arcane.  Is there a forum relevant to the equipment you are using that you would get more information in?  Remember this game was written before 2003, and hasn't been touched since.

I used OBS for my SC4 video series, but I used it for a local recording, not a stream.

Are you able to make a local recording with OBS? If not I might be able to help you out.

What are your specs? OS? 1 or 2 monitors?

The music will always restart whenever the game loses focus in the OS. It's not something changeable, and probably has to do with the way the music player functions in the game. Sounds also do the same thing, and I doubt there's a way around it besides turning the game sound off and playing the music (which you can find in your installation folder in Program Files) via a separate Media Player.
