plugin file question

my question is after I extract a zipped file it opens and then takes effect in the game shows a open folder icon to show this. there is also a unzipped icon as well do I still need this folder there to run the item it list's

Not real sure I get what you mean, but if you have both the zipped download and the unzipped file folder in the Plugins directory, you need to keep the unzipped one. You can move the zipped one to another location. The game doesn't read zipped files.
