My sincere condolences on the passing of Kara.  That name is special to ME for another reason.

Congratulations on being on Ben's Top 10!  That's an honor and you worked for the CJ to be so popular and well read.

I have a friend who sends me "Wisconsin Today" and you live in a gorgeous State!

Welcome to Page Number 2 readers

Today folks will only be for replies. The next update will come next weekend (as I work every other weekend) and I will be showing the City of Salem as promised.

Schriefer= Thank you. She (my cousin Kara) is in a better place and she is also an angel. The farms look great as they are not the same size and they are different types of farms.

Hester= Thank you for the condolences. I guess we are lucky to have someone with that name in our lives. Being on Ben's Top 10 is an honor and I am proud of that and what I have done with the CJ. Wisconsin is a great state with all the landforms, farmland, urban areas and the people. Where I live (extreme southeast Wisconsin near Illinois border and Lake Michigan meet) is the 4th largest city in Wisconsin and never far from the rural areas and not far from Milwaukee (35 miles north of me) and Chicago (55 Miles south of me) and not far from Six Flags Great America and Gurnee Mills Mall, both in Gurnee, IL (15 minute drive south on Interstate 94). I do love Wisconsin and my hometown where I live.

See all of you next weekend when we visit Salem. Be sure to bring the camera and extra film and money. See ya then. JKB

    Sorry about your cousin.

Cool to meet another person from the midwest! I grew up in Chicago and Milwaukee myself. I lived about a 10 minute walk from Northwestern University, and the same distance from UWM when I moved to Milwaukee!

Warm wishes, it sure gets cold up there!

I have an update ready, but the image url is not allowing me to post pictures at all (I can not hit okay button). Once I resolve the issue, I will have the update up and running.  Until then, keep on reading and playing SimCity4. JKB

Welcome back to Region of Salem. Today we visit the twin towns of Rivermouth and Fitzgerald. Both towns are at the end of the Salem Regional Ferry System that originates from the city of Salem far to the west. Both towns lie on the Missabe Bay near the mouth of Fitzgerald River. Thus the names of these two towns; Rivermouth and Fitzgerald.

    Reply:

Hestor= Thanks. I too like the landscapes and the clouds are part of the game graphics.

I would like to hear everyone's opinion on a slogan I just came up with. Here is the slogan:

" Wide Open Spaces, Beautiful Scenery, And Friendly People Await You At Region Of Salem. "

    Now for a quick reply:

Schriefer: Both towns are currently raising money to start a tree planting program along the shoreline to make it more pleasing and beautiful.

Be sure to bring your hiking boots and hiking stick and sunglasses and a camera with extra film with you for the next update. Until then see you later. JKB

I do like your small towns, but I get the feeling with the empty landscapes that they are only half done, or that you are excluding farms, forestry and primary industries. Even so, good work.

    Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

    This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

To my loyal readers, I have hit a very small RL and with the next update. Next update will come Monday when the RL ends. I will be changing the update from a nature theme to a city/ town theme with a little nature mixed in. We will be visiting the City of Hancock Pass and area.

    Now for replies:

mayorbk= I like grids, but I hate to repeat over and over again so I tend to try to break it up.

Ln X= I am not excluding and industrials and farms. Some small towns in the mountains tend to have very little room for farms and/ or industrials. For forestry industry, the law for the Region of Salem requires the forestry industry to have a little impact of the environment. Otherwise, keep the environment the way it is for the future generations of sims. Personally, I in real life, forestry is okay. Thank you no matter what.

Hester= Thanks for the comment on the slogan. I got the idea from hearing slogans for tourism ads on tv for Minnesota, South Dakota, Michigan, Illinois and of course Wisconsin. I thought of trying one out to see how it works out and I think that it works.

Until Monday, enjoy your visit to Region of Salem where "Wide Open Spaces, Beautiful Landscapes, and Friendly People Await You At Region of Salem".

After some RL and now I am on vacation from work, I am back in action. Today we will be visiting The City of Hancock Pass and area. Hancock Pass is a scenic city that takes its name from the pass with the same name just south of the city.

Today's post is just for a quick replies and that the next update will be in a form of multiple updates all focusing on the Baker Islands.

Schulmanator: The snow is only in the mountains. Since the update, the snow has melted and the temperatures warmed up to feel pleasant.

Schiefer: Thank you. I too like how the landscapes turned out through out the region.

Hester: Thank you. I try to do my best no matter what.

    Until then, enjoy.

It has been a few weeks since I did the post for replies. Today, we will be visiting the Baker Islands. We will be starting off in Waldron. Waldron is the only community on Little Baker Island with a connection to Big Baker Island over a two lane highway bridge. Waldron also serves as a ferry terminal to the mainland and is the only community that is close to the mainland.Waldron-Aug11001400542029_zps7e77ae94.jp

Picnic Cove. Secluded area behind Waldron Hills opposite of Waldron (southwest of the town on Little Baker Island). One of many scenic areas on the Baker Islands. Next, we will be touring Big Baker Island and the two communities located on the island. Until next time enjoy your visit to Region of Salem.

Welcome back to Region of Salem. We continue our visit to the Baker Islands. Next on the list is the small village of Hilo. Hilo is on the ferry system and on the Baker Island Highway. The population of Hilo is about 550 and most of the population shops over at Waldron for food, cloths, and other stuff.

    Replies=

Hester= Thank you for those words. Each person is unique in how they build and show their work.

Schulmanator= Thank you. Is it possible for her royal feline to come and visit the opening of an airport near Salem? If so, I will send more information later on (two updates away).
