All images can be posted using the "img" BBCode tag:

[img=<URL>]

1. Upload the image to a hosting site (e.g. Imgur or Imageshack). JPG is the preferable format which is a compressed file type.

2. Copy the direct link to the image. This will vary for different hosts.

3. In the post editor, click the icon that looks like an image. A window will appear.

4. Paste the link into the space and save. The image will be embedded into your post.

Hope this helps. :)

    Can you do that without a hosting site?

    Yes, you can attach images to your posts (hosted here at Simtropolis). This option is available at the bottom, when posting using the Full Editor. The only downside is there's a limited storage space (500kb), which can be managed using the My Attachments page.

    The ST limit is smaller than most of the images I post here.  I suggest getting a full subscription (you pay) on an imaging site.  The price is usually nominal.

    Or stick your images in a free online storage site, like dropbox or skydrive, and link from there.  I use my backup emails skydrive exclusively for my sc4 stuff, and have never had a service problem or had my bandwidth throttled.

    How do I upload multiple images at once in city journals?

    Or is there a way to extract the Direct Link of multiple images from Photobucket like hosting sites?

    When I want to do that, I generally make a collage on my machine using the GIMP, but Photosuite can do that as well.  Then upload the collage and use it.  I believe there is also a mechanism for CJs to create mosaics, but since I don't make a CJ, I am not sure.

    Making a big collage is a nice idea. I will find out how its done.

    For now, I just copy all direct links one by one and use [img = < link >] to add journal entry. But it gets hectic when number of pics is huge !!

    Yes, well that is the point of making a collage.  You have much more control when you are directly on your own machine.

    Another trick you might try is to make an HTML table in your browser for this, then do a screen snapshot.  It might be quicker than messing with photosuite or the GIMP.  It is too bad that the current software doesn't allow tables in submissions.

    For speed of loading, remember to convert to .jpg format.  Much smaller, and nothing much is lost.
