Welcome to Marvin, a bustling little isolated town of 3,000 residents. A town where the people are happy, and the jobs bring them good pay. Enter Marvin.

Here are some pictures showing the start of what could be a great city:

marvin25feb0411312702911qo.png

Marvin in the evening. You can see the convention center and the casino on the top right, the Police station in the center, and our water supply just below the convention center!

Moving on...

marvin1mar0411312703136tx.png

In this picture, you can see the undeveloped land waiting for it's turn. Also in this one is the power plant, tucked away in the industrial area, and our Church and Cemetery.

And finally...

marvin7mar0411312703394fn.png

My favouite part of town. Again you can see the casino and convention center, as well as the hotel the convention center required, the Pan-Arabian Hotel, which hosts tourists and businessmen alike. Note the stone row houses on the far left, they grew on 1x1 lots to give a great 'suburban' feel!

Lots used in Marvin

frimi2's roundabout plugin ( Download here )
Pan-Arabian Hotel (If someone can tell me where do download this, it would be appreciated, thankyou).

Please tell me what you think guys!

Great start. I feel sorry for those people you live next to that power plant. Oh well, they'll live with it... they are sims! 11.gif

(Weird, I've never used that smilie in my life).

The little district with the convention center and casino seems like some old industrial town that's desperately trying to have a renaissance of sorts to attract tourists and revitalize the city.

The row houses are nice... I've been using them a lot lately.

And just FYI... you dont need the roundabout plugin if you have the newest version of the NAM, which can be found towards the bottom of this thread .

O.K. thankyou all for your comments and now you are all comfortable and seated, i'll begin today's daily update... What's that, you want popcorn as well? WELL YOU CAN'T HAVE POPCORN! Sorry. Anyway, hem hem, here is the update as promised (cue the music)

    marvin18may1111313821376zj.png

Here we have our FIRST hi-tech lab, Kane Tiberium. I managed this and I only have an Elementary School.

    marvin7jun1111313822107qd.png

Here is a picture showing the beautiful Marvin night sky. Sweet!

    marvin17jun1111313822577mq.png

And our first High-Wealth Commercial office, in the night.

    Finally...

    marvin22may1111313821554bf.png

Our new industrial park. I figured that the landfill should go here because dirty industry and manufacturing aren't so picky about pollution, thus meaning the landfill should go there.

That's all folks, comment and look forward to the next daily update (updated daily)!

    Goodbye!

    O.K guys next update!

There are no pictures in this update because my Sim City 4 is messing around but I know some things that have happened since the last update.

First of all Kane Tiberium, the hi-tech industry, has packed up and left, to be replaced by Goth Mechanics. Probably karma, since I said yesterday that I managed to attract it with only an Elementary School.

Also a new tall* building has just been built, The Braccia Building. It is a high - wealth residential building and if I remember rightly, it holds around 113 residents (I'll check later).

    * Means tall by the city of Marvin's standards.

Finally planning permission has been given for a junction of the I-87 and the I-7 crossing (I'm sorry if the I-7 and the I-87 don't exist, I come from England and had to make the names up for the Interstates.

If I can edit it and bring in a picture or two, then I will.

hat's all for this update, se you next time folks!

looking good so far.  the casino looks good at night.  I like the use of roundabouts.

heh, your high tech came in becasue they heard your sims were getting really good test scores, then they realized that those were 6th grade proficiency test scores and not SATs!  lol.  good times.

    keep up the good work.

by the way try to remember to turn off the U-Drive-It mission flags before taking screen shots, it will make things look better.  44.gif

Sad news guys, Marvin burnt down almost wholly two nights ago. The whole town was remade, and here are some pictures of the result:

    kingswood7oct0411318813592dl.png

Here is the town's largest building (Apart from the casino), Hi-Rise Tenement. It is a high rise, low wealth residential building.

    kingswood16oct0411318813984xx.png

Here is the main industrial area of the city. We have a lot of dirty industry and manufacturing in ths part. Also we have here a House Of Worship, and a small Commercial area.

    kingswood12nov0411318814669po.png

Finally, here is the central area (most developed). In the bottom right you can see the dual-carrigeway A28(M) turning into the M28 flyover section, before snaking away to the suburbs and away to another town. Also in this one there are a lot of no job zots... Funny because I don't remember them being there when I took the picture.

** Sorry for the large image, it wouldn't fit any smaller **
Here is a map of the original proposed transport system. It was scrapped when the Prime Minister, Edward Dailis, decided on the budget needed (

For one thing, it has way too much low wealth residents. It kind of looks like my first RH City, except it had a lot more towers and no casino...

Yes. What you cannot see is that the high wealth residents all live in streets off to the side, away form the motorway and the industry.

    kingswood22sep0911319865847hs.png

    Hi again folks!

Sim City 4 has crashed on my PC. Luckily I made back-ups of my cities but the problem is that I need to find the diskette. Here is a new road plan:

    btt9hz.png

The M28 is to have a new 'trunk' section, the M281, which will run underground and then into the new city center, work is due to start in 2 weeks. If you are using the M28 near the new section, here are some problems you may encounter:

    2814jk.png

Sorry for any inconvenience caused during your journey.

    delay9ps.png
For 3 weeks at the start of the project, the inside lane of the M28 will be closed off both ways for the junction construction.
    stop3sc.png

For the 3 weeks there will also be a temporary 50mph speed limit through the roadworks. Free breakdown recovery is available.

Hi and welcome. The M28 spur road, the M281, has now been completed. Here are some pictures showing this extraordinary motorway:

    kingswoodmay141511326057160az.png
Here is the first tunnel section, which will soon be a new residential/ commercial area. Just before, it comes past the 4 storey stack with the M28, and the A281.

    kingswoodmay141511326057346zs.png
The second tunnel in all its glory. Notice the dumb-bell roundabouts off to the side. There is just one more junction in this key route into the center. Also there are side lanes, which are still in their early stages. When completed, these will almost double the capacity of the busiest spur in SimNation.

    kingswoodmay141511326056891cg.png
And ending, quite unfashionably, with a pair of dumb-bell roundabouts. This will be, in theory, the busiest part of the motorway, and will be dangerously under - capacity. luckily there is space for more dual - carrigeway through the middle of the junction, when the A281(M) is expanded, which, it is most likely it will.

Well that's all from me, please keep posting comments and suggestions. Good pie!
    <>

**EDIT** I just reviewed the last junction, and realised that it is going to become a major bottleneck...OOPS! **EDIT**

Hello again, and welcome to the update.

    kingswoodjun51911326823941ko.png

Here is a new part of Marvin, Winterbrook. It is built just off the M281 and is an expensive place to live, with only medium and high - wealth buildings. It also holds High - Tech industry and high - wealth commercial offices and shops.

    tmap.bmp

Here is a development map of Marvin, showing the whole city and the new opportunities.

That's all for now folks, see you tomorrow!
