I'm tired of always jumping into games where either the other mayors have absolutely no clue how to set up their cities and end up leaving or they give up on their city but don't abandon it; then it's just sitting there, an eyesore, not contributing to the rest of us who are actually trying to play.  What I have noticed is no one cooperates, everyone has an agenda.  But what if that agenda were the same for a group of like minded mayors?  So here's my idea.

1. City Specific Specializations:

- I'd like to get our region up on the leaderboards.  If we pick specializations that compliment each other such as a combo Tourist/Computer Production City, we could have a high output of $.  If we have a city that has a high population and a high volume of High Tech Industry, then it would make sense for that city to house a maxed out Nuclear Reactor, providing excess power to the region.  Now with that high population and volume Industry city, two cities could thrive off of it; a high volume Commercial and high Tourism city. There is a lot of synergy that can be done as long as we have a common goal in mind.

2. Umbrella System for Emergency Services/Select Utilities/Town Hall Upgrades:

- Not everyone needs to or should put every expansion on their Town Hall.  Because the region benefits from Town Halls in other cities, in this game, redundancy is not your friend.  It should be decided who will produce which upgrade and who will produce which Emergency Services/Select Utilities.  A city with high crime of course should produce a Police Precinct for example, and then share that Police coverage with other cities.  It is possible to provide so much outside police coverage that a city won't need it's own.  Same goes for Fire, Ambulance and Garbage/Recycling.

3. Common Benefit from Great Work:

- If the Great Work is built with common benefit in mind then it will maximize the benefit for all cities.  For instance, if every city in the region was a Computer Production city, a Space Station would be ideal for the boost to a Skilled Workforce.  And as I stated earlier a combo Tourist/Computer Production city would be ideal because they compliment each other.  So both the city itself, and the Great Work would have great synergy.  Not to mention a city with a high volume of High Tech Industry would love the Skilled Workforce.

4. Integrated Mass Transit:

- Given that the game has horrid traffic control; if we force certain variables we could possibly solve the gridlock issues.  My idea is to focus on trying to keep Low and Medium Wealth Residents to around 90-95% of the regions population; this way things like Bus and Ferry Terminals as well as Train Stations can be abused for regional transport.  Note:  I've also seen other mayors use the Train Station as a pseudo subway system; possibility it could work with Street Cars as well.  Since High Wealth anything usually travels by vehicle, if we can cut down on the amount of high wealth and provide adequate mass transit that Low and Medium Wealth will use then that should solve the gridlock caused by the one lane in/one lane out of cities (unless you have a high density road that runs through the city which is amazing for traffic flow).

So in closing, I'm looking for some serious players to test out some insane strategies involving synergy.  Any like minded individuals out there?  In all honesty, I could do this by myself, but it would take a lot of time and let's face it, who likes to play all by themselves?  Even if by chance I could get to the top of the leaderboards on my own, it would get pretty lonely at the top.  I'd like to do something great with equally great people.  You with me?

Side Note:  I'm also looking to start a gaming community that will span multiple game genres.  We can start up a dialog if you're interested.

Alright, I sent you two friend requests.  So are your guys okay with going for the cash leaderboard?  I think it's up to a few billion now.  But that's with just one person running four cities.  If say 5 of us run cash cities then I'm pretty sure at about 2-3 million a month/day whatever it goes by (0000-2400hrs), it shouldn't take too long for us to get there.  Granted that's how much I was making with just 2 or 3 Computer Factories.  Tourism has the potential to make just as much but then traffic becomes an issue so I personally just use enough to cover the specialization expenses per hour.

Note:  I'd like to kinda plan this out so everyone know's what they're doing prior to us jumping in there.  Which map?  Reflection Atoll or Edgewater Bay?

I am in the Mountain time zone. I usually play late at night after 10pm to 1 or 2 am. And I usually play a lot on the weekends for many hours at a time during the afternoon and evening.

Two things I wanted to update:

    -Computer Production

So I tried to iron out a smooth supply flow for the Computer Production.  I think I've got it.  Downside is it costs roughly $80k to maintain.  If the tourism gets glitched out like I've been experiencing then it really hinders the amount of money you can make.  Regardless, the build order I found that works well is 7 Computer Factories, 3 Processor Factories, 2 Alloy Smelters and 1 Plastic Refinery.  The only thing that really holds you back is the ability to sell it quickly.  The sea option on the Trade Ports seem to be your best friend in this situation; haven't had the opportunity to test it out.  Although I keep running into situations where I need to spend money and then I end up in a deficit because it takes too long for the region truck to arrive.  Which brings me to my next update.

    -Trade Depots/Ports

I tested out a hypothesis I had about the Trade Depots/Ports.  "Does the number of Trade Depots/Ports you have affect how many trucks come from the region?"  Turns out, yes, it does.  Both the Trade Depot and the Trade Port have a 30 minute waiting period on spawning Delivery/Pick Up trucks from the region.  That being said; if you build a series of Trade Depots and destroy the warehouse and service truck, it will only cost you $10 an hour for an additional 2 trucks per hour.  I had 19 Trade Depots(18)/Ports(1) which means I should have been receiving something like 38 trucks per hour.

The way I use this is I put a Trade Port (or two) at the entrance to my city with all the warehouses I need to operate my industry.  I then shove as many "stripped" Trade Depots where ever they will fit so as to get a steady stream of supplies.  If I had a sea port then that would be how I would choose to export my material.

I'll give this a shot and update when I figure out how this works.

    Hi !

I would like to join you in your region, but unfortunately I have been unable since I got the game (2 months, 75hrs) to create a processor city. Oil and Smelting works great, I'm making millions of simoleons, but the tiny margin of profit between plastic/ore and processor always bothered me.

Anyway, if there is a spot open, I would be happy to jump in :) (same name in origin)

    Add me: DonArmadillo

I have pretty much tried all extremes for all types of cites such as, 30 processor factories making me about 3mil per hour (I also built the space station with this city alone), 75k pop with only High Wealth and no gridlock (with stadium) and several others but the only thing I haven't realy tried is massive population and I might quite soon!

I am quite keen for something along these lines.  My most successful cities have been made solo NON SANDBOX.  Where i controlled each city.  One city could be failing financially but be successful in education i'd send money from another town built to make money not by tax but commercialised "oil...plastic" etc

I am hoping to find someone who would like to prepare a huge region of cities expansion ready.  In this regard i am talking commercial towns not tourist towns.  My beleif is if we focus on making money and commercialising using that bank roll to fund an airport/tourist zone.

The expansion gives me a COMMERCIALISATION feel more than anything.  I dont hear any mention of tourist dollars what so ever.

If your keen my origin name is Jwbez do not add me lightly this is a long haul.

Also tired of people either not joining your region, creating multiple cities and not managing them, and not logging in for ever. Really annoying when there is no sort of sync.

I'm interested.  I hate starting cities with people in regions that leave.  I'd like to join some other mayors who will stick with a region longer than 2 days.  My cities are efficient.  I like to build the basic infrastructure before I start building my speciliality.  My goal is to have my budget in the green, while building factories/mines/rigs.  I have had much success at mining, drilling, or building computers.  I struggle with Casino's, so if someone else wants to tackle that I'm fine.  If you're looking for someone who is involved, a great team player, and will bring a lot of cash to the region, please add me.

marc1184 is my ID on all platforms. Thanks!
