Behold the beautiful vista of St. Matthew's Retreat, the first settlement of Lush Valley Lake. Beware the winding cliff side road that leads to this haven. Founded by a minister and his brother in 2003 it only just started receiving power and water from nearby  Windmill Hill in the past year.  Considering the new interest in developing the area the Minister has been planning a modest church to serve the surrounding valley.

Windmill Hill. The source of all utilities for the entire valley; power and water supply along with garbage and sewage disposal are all handled in this large alcove in the mountain.  Wind power is the obvious choice with gusts up to 30 miles per hour quite often, giving ample energy for all...and fortunately, the wind blows away the smell of the wastes produced in the area.   :)

And finally the supplier of medical, fire rescue, and justice services to the region, Ridgerock. The main development and brainchild of philanthropist and entrepreneur, Pytharchimedes Onassis. Onassis left the big thrills and spills of New York City to develop his own Utopia in the majestic mountains of Oregon. He owns the rights to all the lands of Lush Valley Lake except St. Matthew's Retreat which he gifted to the local mountain minister.

The Citizens of Lush Valley Lake are looking into the bright future...aiding each other in the march of ethical human progress.

We should all wish them Godspeed and Goodluck.

Like the brightness Onassis and the Citizens of Lush Valley saw in the future, many lights now brighten the Utopian city of Ridgerock. You see the city center in this file photo supplied by Mr. Onassis himself taken on one of his many hikes around the Valley.  The first and only community in American History to have an effective crime rate of zero, for every crime reported an individual is processed by the justice system.

    E7YKZHJ.jpg

With Onassis' commitment to clean air for all people, even though the power burden is strong on the city he refuses to go to alternative sources of energy(in spite also of many tonnages of coal in the bedrock). Here you see a large group of wind turbines on Windmill Hill powering the city of Ridgerock. In the top left you see a section of roadway leading up to the village on the clifftop, where numerous parks and even a public library have been dedicated to Onassis.

What is to come for the Lush Valley Community? Only time will tell...but surely it is on the path to success.

    Tom,

Here are the shots let me know what you think

    Rockridge

    sUAyFsq.jpg

Night Shot of Onassis Industrial Park located in Rockridge. All Industrial and Commercial Business in the Lush Valley is owned and operated by Onassis, he also controls all Real Estate Developments.

    6FbrtXk.jpg

Onassis Industry is on the cutting edge of technology. The going's on inside his advanced factories are highly classified and kept under lock and key.  Who knows what this futuristic building actually does.

    LLE2Qis.jpg

City Center of Ridgerock showcasing the new Monument to Progress designed by Mr. Onassis.  Apparently Onassis venerates the Egyptians who were also fond of constructing Obelisks.

    hxdTDSo.jpg

The development of Rockridge has been impressive. Breaking all statistical records for city growth, population tips over the 200k scale for the entire lush valley. All within a year of breaking ground. At a personal cost of 1.7 Billion to Onassis.

New Alexandria (Latest development in the Lush Valley)

    yPv1jbI.jpg

The early beginning of New Alexandria, the population of this development is 87% previous citizens of New York.  34% of those are employees of his Commercial Conglomerate in New York City which moved all operation to the Lush Valley.  The other percentage as you have heard, are previous homeless New York Citizens that have been rehabilitated and trained to work in the service/construction industry of New Alexandria.

    9mIgEEY.jpg

The Southwest District of New Alexandria where the majority of the service and construction workers reside.

    ZdaVO0K.jpg

With so much of the population being from New York it has given the place a very old school New York vibe.

    mC6ZR1O.jpg

A shot I took from my Airship Tour given to me by one of Mr. Onassis' Assistants. City is stunning at night.

    Travel to Lush Valley

    E75Dpm4.jpg

As you know I flew in at the Aristotle Onassis International Airport, it accepts flights from anywhere in the world per request.

    AXirRv0.jpg

Aristotle Onassis International Airport in the middle of New Alexandria. Named after Onassis' late Father.

They also have a high speed rail that connects via Portland, the fastest magnetic bullet train in the US ; design was formulated at Euclid University in Rockridge,  a 96 minute ride.

    ppC5a5o.jpg

The eccentric nature of Onassis is shown here in that he operates the only long distance(and local shown here) Airships in the world.  Per reservations the Airship can travel within the northwest region of the US, weather permitting of course.

    Technological Innovation

    jcEkKes.jpg

Onassis had a total of 48 Wind Turbines on Windmill hill when he realized that he could not support the power demands of Lush Valley.

    NeLwH8d.jpg

Instead of breaking down and polluting the environment with dirty energy, Onassis and his Lead Scientist Herman Schindler (descendant of Oskar Schindler), developed a new technology at Euclid University Engineering Department in Rockridge. The University also has a campus in New Alexandria.

    1Dm64ri.jpg

    Schindler's Design.

    QZhQpEU.jpg

Not only do his new Turbines power the entirety of Rockridge and New Alexandria, they have many Megawatts left over for future growth. Onassis also gave away the designs and patents to the world.  All production on older style turbines has ceased, all turbines in production on the planet are now after the designs of Herman Schindler.

Alright those are the best ones, have a good weekend and say hi to Deandra for me.

Thanks for the comments, been working on some other cities and trying simcity 4 so not much to Report on Lush Valley but we have not seen the end of Onassis and his Utopian Vision :)

I did hear a rumor that he was seen hiking in the area around when Dr. Miller had his "accident".

Fantastic city journal.  Is this in Sandbox mode, or normal mode?

Thanks a lot. I don't really like sandbox mode, I don't mind the million dollars but all the buildings come already upgraded which I do not like, it denied access to some of the structures I think for example the first town hall, because of that I always play normal mode.

Plus its more of a challenge which is fun, having to power both of the cities in this journal with the wind turbines got a little crazy, I would have to only play Windmill Hill for a few game hours as it was a -20k in the red(and still is, needs constant cash infusions), a big time burden lol, have over 50 advanced turbines. Thankfully soon my sims will develop the clean nuclear energy :)

Also excited that they finally released churches, need to plop one of those Stone ones in St. Matthews Retreat :)

Thanks for sharing your work. Some great layouts. Love your journal concept with the magazine covers and newspaper cuttings. A real labour of love. I've just recently bought the game. As a SC4 player for yonks I was too easily swayed by the negative harsh criticism SC2013 received. Now I'm kicking myself, wish I'd bought it long ago! OK the base game is kinda lame but with the current range of awesome mods the potential of this game is almost limitless. Your work has provided me with inspiration for designing my own utopian region. Thanks
