Map making

Hi everyone.

 

I'm making maps for the STEX and I heared about a program to make maps called sc4Terraformer. So I downloaded it and followed all steps to use it, but I can't figure it out. Does anyone have a good detailed and a updated tutorial for downloading it with working websites? Cause I see a lot of tutorials, but sometimes it's from 2010. So sometimes the given sites don't work.

SC4Terraformer was released in 2007, so many of the older tutorials will still be valid. A fairly detailed one can be found on this page at SC4Devotion, which explains how to use the tools to create a map. At the end, you'll export the map as a .SC4M file. This file will contain the information needed to create a region, which can then be imported into the game.
 
Although Terraformer can do this, a more simplified tool for importing and exporting .SC4M files is SC4Mapper. There's a guide on how to use it here, along with the download link to the latest version (2013). I'd personally recommend using Terraformer to create maps, and then Mapper to import and render them for use.
