Airport Problem

I know I have written in about an airport issue before. Anyways, I downloaded this airport pack awhile back and built an airport...and it was fine:

I ended up having to reinstall Win 7 back on my laptop and reinstalled SimCity 4 on the laptop and reinstalled all the mods. Everything was fine until I saw the new airport I had build with the above pack:

Obviously, there is a conflict of some sort. So I went and checked the default SimCity Airport...and this is what I saw...

I went through and did the process of elimination on the mod files and found once I removed the new airport folder, the issue went away on the default airports. However, if I left the new airport folder out of the plugins folder, the city it is in, will start to load, and then just shut the game down. One moment the city is loading, the next the screen goes black and then I am back to my desktop. I tried to download the airport again and reinstall, but got the same result...city won't load and dumps me back to my desktop. So is this something I am going just have to deal with? Or is there a fix? Or what?

Thanks in advance.

I went through all the mods...and come to find out, the conflict with the New Airport is an OutDoor Rink for hockey

Not sure WHY that would be affecting it, but it was so I took it out. The Default airport is still messed up since I believe the new airport is a conflict with the default airport. Any ideas?

Well, since airports are strictly eye-candy, it really depends how badly you want to use up all that real estate.  If you really want it, continue analysis.

Texture issues aren't all that complicated fortunately.  The airport pack and hockey rink you downloaded might use conflicting texture files (different textures with the same IDs), or the lots might have been corrupted somehow and use the wrong textures.

I'm guessing it's the former since it goes away when you take out the plugins in question.  You could possibly have an outdated dependency file.

How do I find out if I have an outdated dependency file? Still trying to figure out why the new airport is interfering with the default maxis airport...and if I remove the new airport, then that city no longer loads...

It could take a while depending on how organized you keep your plugins.

The best way to do testing is in a separate city.  Try taking out the new airport, then start a city and place the original airport.  See if it's fixed.  (You don't have to save the city of course).

There are millions of files involved.  Conflicts are inevitable as there is a limited number of IDs.  Why would you want the defautl airport and a replacement?  Generally a new layout overrides the old.

The default one seems good for smaller territories...I mean i  guess I could build a new one. I just build a new airport because one territory I was building on was like 4 times the size of the rest of them...I was just trying to see if they could co-exist...and the weird part is...when I first built them together back when...it seems like they did co-exist...but then when I reinstalled Win 7 and the reinstalled the game etc...that's when the issue happened. Oh well...guess I will have to choose between them...

Generally speaking computer programs shouldn't do different things on different platforms.  It might have a lot to do with the loading order of your new airport.  The maxis stuff always loads first unless you put the new airport in C:\program files ...\SimCity 4\Plugins where nothing should be put except the sky textures.

User plugins are supposed to load last from C:\<user>\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins.

I know that the mods are supposed to go into the C:\<user>\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins however, the new airport said to put it in the C:\Program Files\Maxis\Plugins...so that is where I put it...

Then perhaps that is the problem? Have you tried installing the 'new' airport, either manually, or if there is an installer by directing it to -> your C:\<user>\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins folder instead?
