Bulldozer Service & Upgrade All Roads

Could a bulldozer utility or service easily be added to the game? It is very inconvenient having to delete all of the rubble, especially as the city is developing (and in my play-style, I avoid caring about services until I have about 2million). If it is not possible, what about a mod that simply deletes ALL rubble/abandoned buildings?

Are there currently any mods to upgrade all roads? If not, would it be an easy thing to make? With the grid system that I use, I spend about 45min adding the complete road system, and by then I have about 1.5million. I am usually left with 400+ roads to upgrade one-by-one, which takes about an hour and a half.

Thank you for your time!

what you're talking about is real-time manipulation of a city and would have to be done in-app rather than data-side via mods.

It would also need to be integrated into the engine in a way that more or less excludes it from any modders ability. These features would have to have access to all current road segments or lot ID's. What we have access to are properties and settings that the internal scripts use but not how those scripts behave as they are compiled in whatever languages GlassBox uses.

when you delete a building or upgrade a road, what you are really doing (in a very general sense) is clicking an object to pull up its menu of options. Its just you have pre chosen the option to demolish it or upgrade it. if that object then has the ability to be demolished or upgraded and any pre existing rules have been met the game triggers the code that object 'owns' to do the option requested

for an all in one demolish button the game itself would need to go through all of the buildings in your city , check its build status (abandoned, rubble, underconstruction, normal) and select that demolish option for all rubble, or all abandoned or... whichever choice the user wanted. Same effect for the road upgrade. 100% possible but would require modders to create  3rd party apps that plays about with computer memory and not the game as such and could fail due to server sync, or the developers to write the routines in the games code.

they probably chose not to as adding all sorts of 'all in one' upgrade / demolish buttons as it would have started cluttering up the UI and possibly confuse players. I'm sure these types of options will start to be added my Maxis though now they know which are most requested. It would be a hell of a lot of work for a modder to write 3rd party apps to do this sort of thing and even then may not work
