So I've been thinking of starting up a region for a Steampunk city, any recommendations for lots and mods?

Obviously cool, old-fashioned trains and trams are called for.  Airship ports would be nice too. Mods that change road and street surfaces to something less modern and more Victorian would be a plus too, as well as ones that would replace the default cars with something more period appropriate.  Some cool coal or gas power plants and industrial buildings with lots of giant gears and exposed pipes would be nice as well.

Of course, real-life Victorian buildings would go well with the setting, along with some older buildings to give my Steampunk metropolis a sense of history.

If you're going Steampunk, I'd seriously recommend you to take a look the now inactive Endora Mayor Diary in SC4Devotion [link]. It's like a Bible for the ones who have dared to venture (with more or less fortune) to go Steampunk on SC4.

If you have trouble on getting the custom content you see on that MD, don't hesistate on asking in the "Can't Find It? Ask Here!" thread.

    Link doesn't seem to work

Endora is very impressive, but a bit more modern than I was thinking.  Lots of electric signs and cars, and it seems even he was forced to photoshop some of the cooler steampunk content in.  :(  Still, very glad for the link.

It looks like SimCity China is down this days, so for now on you will have no access to the blimp replacement KonstantinII suggested. As for the photoedition in Endora, yeah, there's not much Steampunk-compliant content on the exchanges, so sometimes you just need to "fake" the thing... But sometimes it looks great!! For my very own creations I've used, among others, the following stuff:

    Zeppelin lots:

    Zeppelin:

    Gare du Nord:

    Gare d'Orsay: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2656

    Lomonossov University: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2881

    Everything from Porkissimo.

    Everything from xannepan.

Some art decó skyscrapers by the NDEX team.

    Refinery stuff from: http://members3.jcom.home.ne.jp/somy000/

    Power plant smokestacks set:

    Bipin's Smokestacks:

Still, you'll need some serious photoedition in order to get the proper results...
