Certain areas bugged

This is quite a problem. Whenever i do something in certain areas of a map the game closes. Usually it seems to happen when the elevation level needs to change, that is when i build roads or plop buildings or use terrain tools like level or soften. It happens instantly when i click on that area. I had an old version of SC4 before and this never happened. I tried removing all the plugins which did nothing. Then i reinstalled the previous version and still experienced this. Seems as if the maps got bugged in some way. Not sure though, but this sort of makes the game unplayable. Anyone else having this?

think it was this one (or something very similar) causing problems. it doesn't add anything, just changes the appearance of forests. removing did help in some cases but not all. besides this i haven't added much to that map. some terraforming, roads, zones and usual stuff mostly. any way to deal with a problem like this?

It could also be related to a terrain mod. Do you remember if you used any?

    You could try the following:

-restore your old MMPs and tree controller, with their dependencies OR

-type the cheat code FloraOff (you might require the ExtraCheats plugin to do this) when you enter your city: it will remove all your flora and your MMPs (not reversible) OR

    -"nuke" your city (not reversible)

If related to a terrain mod, grab the dependencies of the terrain mod you used and put it in your plugins. Then try to terraform.

I no longer use the default maps at all.  They seem to be prone to problems when used with version 1,1,641.  I use newly created maps of my own or downloaded from the STEX.

To get a clearer picture of this problem can you specify which map you are using.  Also, what your command options are, and what O/S you are running.
