Power plant about to melt down

I have a nuclear plant with two fast neutron reactors and a gen 1 reactor. Somewhere along the line I closed my schools for a second and one of the fast neutron reactors doesn't have educated enough students for safe operation. I shut down the whole plant, then realized it was only the one reactor that is the problem, so I turned the other two on. No problems there so far, and my schools are working wonderfully. I have 3 tech wheels and 4 hats in education...

The problem is, if I turn on the bad reactor, a meltdown occurs immediately. If I bulldoze it, the radiation spills out. So how do I get this reactor either back on line, or gone to build another one?

FYI, as soon as the reactor meltdown occurs, I pause, CTRL ALT DEL and shut down the computer. This keeps the city from actually registering having a meltdown and polluting it with radiation.

I'm having trouble getting money from exporting my excess power too. Could the imminent meltdowns be causing it?

its basicially because of low education. But the game acts weird anyways. Last night i was playing my city where i had 2 reactors and one of them meltdown, inspite of having full education and tech level !

Double click the plant, and you can use the bulldozer to destroy the one bad reactor without killing the whole plant. just "edit" the building as if you were adding a module, but click the bulldozer and choose the 1 specific problematic module.

You know I'm pretty sure that's how I bulldozed the bad reactor, but I'll try it again.

Nope. When I bulldoze the reactor from the edit screen the radiation leaks out. FIX?

You should check out skye stormes videos on YouTube he does an excellent basics on education video that deals with a "knowledge network".

The network is generated by colleges and universities and is represented by pink lines on roads just like power or water. I think the closer the power plant is to a college or uni the more benefit it gets.

As for the current city I am thinking it might be too late I am sorry to say.

This is completely unnecessary. There is a really awesome program built into Windows called Task Manager. You can use it to force close SimCity. ;)
