One Way vs Avenue

Hey everyone...not really a question...just looking to get a general census...from time to time I get the pop up saying this particular avenue is too busy and to either make it a one way or create a rapid transit line etc. Now...an avenue is already a two lane street going in each direction. So what's the difference in making a road a one way vs just leaving an avenue?

Applies only to current NAM traffic controller: OWR has bigger capacity and speed than AVE, so it is more effective to use 2xOWR than 1xAVE.

Cons? Ugly intersections, and you can't make neighbour connections with OWR alone(AVE connection and conversion into 2xOWR after few tiles is OK)

When I get an overloaded AVE, my strategy is to add a subway line along the avenue if possible.  Usually cools things down.
