It is Lloydminster, Alberta [pop. 20,988]

 

Lloydminster is one of the strangest cities in Canada. Not due to its heritage or history, but due to its location. This city, founded in 1903 by Bar immigrants, is situated on the plains, directly on the 4th meridian. When the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan were created, the town was split in two, and two seperate municipalities developed. The communities united in 1930 to form a single town, and an ending to an unusual story.

 

NOTE: The side the photo was taken in was Alberta, so I decided to use that as the province.
