Are there self-installing (exe) mods for SC4? Looking for amusement parks...

This is my first time "playing" the SC4 game and I'm enjoying it. So many new and interesting facets to this game. I've read over the mod tutorials and it does sound very complicated. In some respects it's similar to the Emergency 4 game in regards to modding.

 

Is there a mod addon that allows for amusement parks? Even payware?

If you hop to the STEX, and search for "amusement" there are a bunch in there. Many by Aldara6166 and others.

Many of the Sc4D mods are installed via installers (.exe) and tend to make a mess of the plugins folder (IMO). So check there if you want installers.

From the context, I guess you are a new player.  I strongly urge you to think about structuring your Plugins folder so that it will be easy to maintain things.  It is no joy to find yourself digging through a gigabyte or more of plugins looking for one to change that has been updated.

 

I keep my set up in two parallel structures:  <me>/downloads/sc4relateddownloads and <me>/SimCity 4/Plugins.  Each contains sub-folders, usually by author.  Here is a short sample:

I cut both of these listings off at the EA header.  Something to think about.  Note that the two lists are not identical.  Some things are programs and not plugins.

Most mods on the STEX will be contained in a ZIP file. To install, simply extract / copy the files to your "Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins" folder.
And yes, all mods hosted on the BSC Lot Exchange (LEX) will contain an installer.
