Origin stuck in offline mode

I went to play SimCity this morning only to find that Origin was in offline mode.  I clicked 'Go Online' and nothing.  I checked my internet connection and it was fine so I restarted my computer.  I opened Origin and same thing, in offline mode, go online does nothing.  Anyone have any ideas?

Experiencing the same thing on a weekend....

 

How stupid it is... First EA servers are unstable.... then your vendor's login site is also unstable... Even the Origin's website is gone now.

I even tried to uninstall and check firewall info before I finally found this and saw it was NOT my computer. :-(

I've wondered for days why everyone is so angry with EA about the DRM online only they tack onto their software.

Right now I'm feeling that wrath and am 3 seconds from throwing in the towel on this BS

 

 

its not just simcity for me, its every other online game too. And in case you didn't know, EA owns Origin. That explains everything

Seriously. What kind of traffic load can they possibly be experiencing at 3AM EST that bogs down not only their service, but their website too? Thats laughable

what ticks me off however is that while most of EA/Origin is down , the STORE is still up and accepting your money....
