Would some kind of restructuration of this subforum be possible? I'm asking, because since NAM 31 release, the bug & technical issues report thread is sort of monopolizing the whole subforum, offering little view to other topics... Not to mention there's like a half page of pinned threads that also blocks their visibility.

Shouldn't all things related to the NAM be put in a new dedicated subforum? That would both increase the modding forum visibility and make navigation easier for all those people having problem with their NAM installation.

Thanks for your consideration.

Yes, the Bugs and Technical Issues forum is for game bugs and should not be used for NAM bugs and problems.  People often choose the wrong forum, and the policing effort by the moderators is getting more difficult.

Actually, fielding most the of the real B & TI these days consists of "my game crashed" stuff, all of which have long been solved.

NAM threads are in their own area; the Modding--Transit Networks subforum.  Normal modding threads are in the Modding--Open Discussion section.

Okay, so I'm supposed to post transit-related modding questions in the modding - open discussion then? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Transit-related modding questions belong in the Modding: Transit Networks subsection of the Modding: Open Discussion Section in the SimCity 4 Builders forum.

    Breakdown:

    1. Simtropolis Forums
    2.      → SimCity 4 Builders Forum
    3.           → SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
    4.                → SC4 Modding - Transit Networks

    Just a couple points here...

NAM does have it's own support topic, and we would naturally like questions concerning NAM-related issues posted there. On the other hand, in past incarnations of the site software, it was easy to merge/move topics/posts into existing threads and helped things proceed smoothly. Posts would simply be added to the end of existing topics, such as the NAM topic. However, over time, the software has evolved to where posts are placed in time sequence rather than at the end. This has created the situation where posts would become mixed up and difficult to follow when merging or moving existing items. With this said, NAM topics (as well as other transit topics) are probably best placed in the Modding - Transit Network subforum since it is a place for that type of discussion, leaving the Modding - Open Discussion forum open to other issues.

Another point regarding NAM questions... Yes, if NAM questions arise in other forums, they should probably be moved as mentioned above if caught early. However, having moderated some of the forums where these questions arose, they are often what I called 'one-and-dones'. These are questions where the answer was given and the issue ended. These types of quick, question-answer, topics would soon fall down the page and out of immediate view. Of course, if any topic is seen to be quite lengthy and in the wrong forum, they can always be reported, and a mod can move them. Some forums are busier than others, and mods may not always get to things as quick as others.

We are always looking for ways to improve the ease of navigation of the site, so any suggestions are welcome.
