Trade Port Shipping Issues

Yes, I understand we all know the Port has many MANY issues, but I've discovered yet another. It seems, that if you place one of the alternate exporters, (rail or boat) that occasionally, the port will still ship the resource on a truck. Even with all the trucks demolished. Not sure how to fix this, ive rebuilt the damn thing a few times now and still have the issue.

Any thoughts?

I have started testing by placing 2 or 3 truck plops, waiting a day with the port on "Use Locally" so in theory, the trucks would have garages to return to, however, the trucks so far don't return until you mark it for export, even if you demolish the whole damn thing.

when you set to export/import, the trucks that collect/bring resources come from the region. you dont need to have trucks garages/trucks. you only need them when you want to ship the resources from your port to whatever industry needs it.

that said, you are right that there is a bug where the region still keeps sending trucks to collect your resources, eg when you are exporting a resource. this happens even if you plop down a ship yard or a freight rail terminal. the only way i know around it is to use segregation (disconnecting road to region), which was introduced by another user Skye Storme. go search around and you can see what i mean.

You don't even need delivery trucks to deliver to your local industry such as a coal power plant or oil power plant. Trucks from those places will come to your trade depot/port to pick up the materials. Really the only reason you have trucks is to ship stuff out faster, but even then they don't really make a difference. And you don't 'need' to have your trade port set at use locally for your power plants to use the materials, you just shouldn't have it at Export or else it'll export all of it without any getting to your power plants.

I also highly recommend looking at Skye Storms YouTube channel, he has some extremely helpful 60 second tip videos as well as his segregation videos.
